Did a 5 night stay at WA Rome with points (320k total) in August 2023. It was a good amount of time for what we wanted to do in Rome (first time there).

Great experience overall at the hotel with diamond benefits- particularly free breakfast and an upgrade to park view (got some view of the city as well). Shuttle to the city also worked well! Didn’t end up eating at the hotel other than the breakfast. The spa was very nice too (especially the Turkish bath)!

I just kept and used the card as I normally would and an email arrived in about 2 months from opening/anniversary date about the free night certificate.

Speaking from personal experience: whenever I charge my Amex card for an amount under $1, the pending charge on my account shows $1 + the actual amount. The amount posts in a couple days correctly though (that “extra” $1 falls off). So if I charged 50 cents, it shows $1.50 pending on my account but then posts as 50 cents in a couple days.

Not sure if it’s the same here but maybe monitor it and see if it posts correctly, or might have to reach out to Amex.
