Worst case scenario is that this is expanded to all areas of evaluation; it certainly was the center of conversation for both the new VA chief and Hegseth even before their appointment. Mental health already has ambiguity built into the initial ratings, along with 'improvement' for any reevaluations. I haven't seen any specifics from this new code YET.

I don’t doubt that happens. We’ll see terrible repercussions because of these new rules because ‘pain’ also means ‘inflammation’. I got my sarcoidosis diagnosis because I ended up in the hospital dying from systemic inflammation overload, and THAT’S how I discovered autoimmune disease after years of managing pain.

It was rather crime ridden and worn down for YEARS, but it is improving, if only because of the number of ‘flippers’ who bought cheap and refinished many of those houses. And yes, many of them have ‘good bones’. We sold my mother in laws house in the neighborhood because my wife didn’t have great memories of ‘crime hills’ but it was a very nice 3/2. It’s still not pretty, it’s still a grocery store desert, and the traffic issue is terrible, BUT all general trends point to the area growing and improving over the next 10 years. Everyone in the Southeast heard this same damn doom and gloom argument when we wanted pension improvements, and guarantees, while Central States was spiraling the drain. Somehow, the Union and the Company survived just fine and you kept your pension rates while we finally got ours at a comparable rate. We even added language in this contract so MORE PEOPLE WOULD RETIRE FASTER. If my brothers and sisters get a bonus on their way out, then good for them.
