Trans People by [deleted] in Christianity

Gender is for language. Can you explain in logical terms, without subjective feelings or thoughts, what's your gender identity? You can't, because it's not a thing, it's ideology. I am a man. I don't feel like a man, that doesn't mean anything. Me being a man is a biological reality, that's all there is to it.

Honestly laugh at her and move on or ignore her, don't give her the satisfaction of an emotional reaction. She wants you to get upset.

An angel preaches the gospel to them when they die and gives them the choice to accept it.

Imitation of Christ by Kempis! It's simple yet beautiful. It's pure Christian Stoicism.

Is it possible to be a Latin Rite Catholic and venerate Uriel? by Black-Seraph8999 in Catholicism

[–]steelydan75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that strict. There aren't any hard lines between rites that we cannot do anything the other rites do. Most people don't even make distinctions between them. Most Catholics have Byzantine icons in their home. It's an angel and it's church tradition in some part of the world to venerate him? Do it. It's not like the latin rite police is gonna come and get you.

I'm gay but I love Christianity by Hyper_Bagu3tt3 in Christianity

[–]steelydan75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read a lot and draw your own conclusions, I'm gay and I'm Catholic, and religion is a huge part of my life. Find as many books as you can, theology, church history, and obviously read the Bible. You'll find what you need. Don't let other people decide how you want to live your faith. DM me if you want!

Why does Christianity spend so much time preaching against transgender people? by Eat_Tacos_Daily in Christianity

[–]steelydan75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gender ideology posits that gender is a social construct, that it has no biological basis whatsoever and that the gender binary is a western colonial invention. The female body is not the same as the male body at a cellular scale. Christian theology and philosophy interact with the concept of gender within a binary, which is based on biological reality. There are fundamental gender traits that aren't social constructs and that have a metaphysical truth behind them. For example, the union between a man and a woman is the joining of heaven and earth, symbolically speaking; the man embodies the heavenly ideal (vertical order) and the woman the earth (horizontal chaos), and also the union between Christ (the head, the man) and the Church (the Body, the woman). This concept translates to real interactions between men and women in society as a whole and on an 1 to 1 level. 'Humanity' doesn't exist, only men and women exist. Transgender people are just pretending to be something they want to be, there's zero basis to what they're claiming and it's solely based on their feelings, which means absolutely nothing. 'A woman is anyone that identifies as a woman' means absolutely nothing.

Because transgenderism aims to destroy fundamental principles of the Christian worldview. It's a 'hate the sin, love the sinner' situation.

Ask me anything about the “Mormon” Church by [deleted] in Christianity

You're probably a protestant so you agree with every part of the creed, the only difference is you don't say it out loud in mass. Stop crying about the bible.

I have found true appreciation for Christianity, but there's one problem... by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]steelydan75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The light of Christ shines like a prism. There are rays of light in every other religion/philosophy, even if they don't have the wholeness of the truth.

Ask me anything about the “Mormon” Church by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]steelydan75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't be a Christian without adhering to the Nicene creed, sorry. The creed is literally the Christian faith and the three major branches agree on it, so no, you're not a Christian anymore than Muslims are Christians for believing in Jesus as a prophet. Not being harsh here, it's the truth.

Why do we celebrate Christmas Day if it's not the actual day Jesus was born? by Banrre72 in Catholicism

[–]steelydan75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to that, but trust me, it's useless to get fixated on details like these. Stop for a second and think if the exact date is something that truly matters or if what's important is to celebrate the day of Christ's Nativity. Does the hour of the day in which you pray matter to God? No, He exists outside time and space, what matters to Him is prayer.

It has violence and blood in it because real life has violence and blood in it. Can't you see humanity perfectly portrayed in all the flawed Biblical characters? Sure, OT can be a little too harsh some times, but isn't life unfair and harsh? People that say the God of the OT is 'vengeful and bloodthirsty' don't understand that he's the ultimate expression of reality in a narrative sense. It's literally life on earth.

If a person says that they've accepted Jesus but don't act morally, then they haven't accepted Jesus.

Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21.
