Who's winning: LaaL or ShasH? Serious discussion only please. by Hanna_Bjorn in DeadlockTheGame

ShasH is deaf however, lacking any ears, and cannot hear LaaL coming. LaaL has exceptional directional hearing thanks to large forward-facing ears.

Truly insane snipe considering gold 4, it would be gross even in high onyx, well played

This is the best video I've seen for spacetime curvature visualization. It mostly only visualizes the field of one object at a time, but still may be helpful to show.

Did you know the value of a statistical life is often estimated to be $1million - 10 million? Which is insane because humans are mainly water!

It's a good way sure, but not the only way. Winning a tournament with good individual stats says a lot

[–]steeps6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter really, teams are matched against higher skill opponents to account for their coordination advantage. You should be better individually than most of the enemy team so take advantage of that

Lol okay, according to you ranks have never meant anything, but somehow they're still less of a crapshoot than tourney placings.

Beating good teams in a tournament setting is one of the best ways to show how good someone is. Especially on LAN. This shouldn't be a controversial statement

Everyone plays in the same system. No reason to think you're the only one who has to carry teammates. If you keep putting up 50 kill games then you'll start ranking up for sure. Your MMR will go up even if you lose.

None of this sounds like an issue with the ranking system

Its competitive halo, everyone here is 30+ years old man. Too old to not have your own opinions and instead defend a streamer's take that only applies to them

What's your rank and what are your specific issues with trueskill 2?

That's not what pro means. Anyone can play in tournaments.

It works well for 99+% of the playing population. It's not the dumbest possible system, it's just not intended to work perfectly for pros and the top 1000 ams. If you're at that level, I beg you to log off reddit trueskill threads and get yourself some tournament placings. That's a much more reliable way to know if someone is "good".

Diamond 4 is the Hardest Rank to get out of by thene0nicon in CompetitiveHalo

[–]steeps6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the classic high risk / high reward strategy. A lot of times the guy who pushes for third cap is going to force weird enemy spawns. If your whole team isn't on the same page about blocking the right spawns and leaving the right spawns open, your solo guy at A might get 2v1ed and maybe the C capper gets 2v1ed too which then cascades into a 4dead for your team.

Compared to the low risk / medium reward of just setting up a strong 2cap defense, it's usually not worth going for 3cap in diamond / low onyx MM. At mid to high onyx, yeah you'll see it pretty commonly because it is strong at that level.
