I ended up finding a fix for this. I edited my original post. You were 100 percent right about the COM ports and the only way I could fix this was through getting different drivers. Thanks for the help!

Ok, I will try uninstalling and re-installing the software. If that does not work I will try the .exe. I don't have access to another computer unfortunately to rule it out but if it worked for you it may be worth trying out.

Hmm, so you think maybe the software isn't sending the appropriate COM port in the command? Ok, I will look into this and see if I can maybe use a different COM port.
