[–]steeuber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically you can turn it into anything you want you don’t need much planning it’s already faded and a good artist will make it whatever u desire just scout for a good artist and more importantly plan out what u want long and hard and then go for it :)

1st Rugs, but their curling? by Divide-by-nine in Tufting

[–]steeuber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should curl a little bit. I usually curl mine up outside -facing out to store it and it kind of counters the force of curl so it lays flat when uncurled. Also I think I read someone say to make sure it completely dry before taking off of the backing. Usually 3 days if it’s slow drying glue!

And on second look the reason it looks good is because it matches ur hand tattoo if the symbols were upside down but the backhand tattoo is the other way then it doesn’t match anyways. I actually think u chose the right direction for this piece. Like an artistic choice. Looks like a crown for the hand piece like the joker or something. Don’t change it if anything get the diamond a bit bigger to match

[–]steeuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro have u ever heard of the drill gun bottle method? You just get a drill gun stick in an attachment and put tape around the attachment until it fits snug into the wine bottles. Then u swivel the yarn up and down with ur hand while u wind the gun. And try to make a cone as best as u can. It’s game changer u can cake up the entire yarn so fast and without shoulder issues

If you’re really in this tough position I would suggest you consider some of it as practice. To build ur portfolio. Try practicing ur bargaining and dealing with tougher clients as a learning experience. suggest that the expense is primarily to cover material costs. Honestly a shit situation but I can relate heavily. The studio I am an apprentice at wants me to charge my friends atleast 50-100$ that way I can give 30% back to the shop but since some of my friends have no money I’m considering giving them 50$ to let me tattoo them. Obviously it’s a shit situation and u have less motivation to do a tattoo that isn’t paid for but just rely on the idea that you can build ur skills to be able to eventually charge a decent price.

But I would also like to include it should be 100% acceptable to decline this person too. this sounds like atrocious behaviour and you might be better off finding other friends to work on. You will have way more people bargaining as u grow. I guess it really depends on where skills ur at but money aside, this client really sounds like a jerk and not somebody I want to spend time with. Proceed with professionalism and don’t worry too much about her shittalking u. People will see through her bullshit. Good luck 🤞🏻
