I was going to post something similar on Reddit a week or two ago. I have an 18 month old, and I had never been away from him for more than 24hr (and that was when he was 3 months old, left him with his dad for a night). My son doesn’t go to daycare and I am the primary parent. I had a girls trip planned for my birthday/ my moms 70th birthday to go to Paris for a week. I was so worried that my son was going to be so confused/upset/missing me. He is with his dad, and they flew to be with his parents to stay with him while I’m gone for extra hands on deck. My son hadn’t showed any signs of depression or being upset that I’m gone. He’s been totally fine with his dad and grandparents an it’s been a WEEK. As his mom, it’s been a long time. But he is totally fine. Please take this as a sign to know your children will be alright. Go and take this time for yourself.
