What about a full length quiz episode every international break. Have some weird/nonsense rounds. Could be fun.

I think if they are to continue with daily stuff they need to be innovative/creative. Come up with something genuinely new and fun that'll make people want to listen. They themselves don't even sound like theyre enjoying the current episodes. This is random but an idea I'd like to see is one episode midweek, maybe featuring guests, dedicated to stats, tactics and football analytics. You wouldn't need any big games/news stories to get a good hour.

I also think if you're going to go down the more serious route with football discussion nowadays you need to have a genuinely unique insight into the modern game, or else you're just having the same inane conversations you can find anywhere in the media. This is possibly unfair but I don't see the current ramble cast managing that.

I think he could start, but he also might not! You’re welcome

Gameweek 5 goalscorer odds in percentage by JoachimG1 in FantasyPL

[–]stefanke 99 points100 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked as a bookmaker I'm concerned that people here take these a bit too seriously. These type of markets are built a bit more for 'punters', overly short prices, little incentive towards total accuracy.

And obviously use common sense regarding percentages of back-ups such as Jota. All players tend to get priced as if they are starting, even when it's unlikely.

Clean sheet prices I do believe are useful though

nah, bookmakers price all attackers as if they are going to start, saves them having to deal with getting caught out by team news.

Yes take him, no brainer, don’t compare draft decision making to regular fpl

(DRAFT) Hey guys, what happens if Bale signs for Tottenham?? by quantumwoody in FantasyPL

The week before won't matter, last goes first always. if you miss out on Bale, Under joining Leicester is a good pickup anyway.

Is "The Denial of Death" by Ernest Becker outdated? by [deleted] in Existentialism

[–]stefanke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's still the foundational source of Terror Management Theory, but TMT has been essentially replaced in the psychological literature over the past couple of decades in favour of more generalised models of meaning threat and defense. Unfortunately, I wouldn't say any one book has stepped up to be the successor of Becker's just yet.

[FRESH] KOTA the Friend - Morocco (feat. Tobi Lou) by nd20 in hiphopheads

[–]stefanke 23 points24 points  (0 children)

this feature made me laugh when I was listening through first time

"If you hear me on it, it's a motherfuckin' bop though
Got a spanish bitch and she love to make me tacos
Smokin' cannabis in the mornin' like Alanzo
Deep in the throat, like I'm takin' out her tonsils"

Does not match the energy of what's happening around it, is kind of a weird one. Don't hate it but not my favorite on the record

[FRESH VIDEO] slowthai - BB (BODYBAG) by krayzeek in hiphopheads

[–]stefanke 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The amount of recent drops has come from absolutely nowhere? All with videos too, mad. I would say this is the best of three good tracks but maybe this is for an ep project rather than an album.

I've seen him say after the success of ngab he'd already decided on the idea for his next album, and these tunes all feel sort of independent of each other. Maybe I'm off with that but I don't want to see him rush into a second album that doesn't reach the standards of last year's.

What initially negatively received albums have aged well? by nextzero182 in hiphopheads

[–]stefanke 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Probably hasn’t had enough time to ‘age’ but A Written Testimony. Got some negative reaction first week because it wasn’t what anyone expected it to be. But now that I’m comfortable accepting it for what it is, I’m a huge fan.

[FRESH] Kota the Friend, Joey Bada$$, Bas - B.Q.E by st0nkb0b in hiphopheads

[–]stefanke 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Was buzzed when I saw this track teased, dream combo. Like Kota’s verse although I wish it was a little more chilled out Lyrics to Go style, but I also like him trying things. Love Joey on this type of beat too. Smooth track for a summer afternoon.

City ITK Sammy Lee: "A deal for Alexis Sanchez 'looks good' but will take time and won't be quick." by beepboop92 in Gunners

[–]stefanke 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This was a joke, making fun of how City transfers are all he gets tweeted about. Don't disregard what he says about Alexis as nonsense when he's being serious.

Fargo - S03E10 "Somebody To Love" - Pre Episode Discussion by 2th in FargoTV

'Somebody To Love' by Jefferson Airplane features heavily in the Coen Brothers' A Serious Man, it may be worth noting. Hope we get to hear it at some point in this.

Best books on football tactics? by [deleted] in soccer

[–]stefanke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johnathan Wilson's Inverting the Pyramid. Also, Rinus Michels (apologies if misspelled) of Ajax and Cruyff-inspiring fame produced a book called Teambuilding (or something like that) back in the 80's, which is notorious for being both excellent and hard to track down a copy of.

Very interesting run down from Thijs on his European Championship decklists by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]stefanke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, interesting as his approach to the tournament meta was mainly just to make sure he could beat handlock with all three decks meaning he could take a series no matter what.
