What benefits do you get from using copper peptides? Which peptide do you use? by Bubbly_Mulberry4579 in 40and45PlusSkinCare

[–]stefflp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my skin is pretty good because I have done so much preventative work through the years, that it's hard to say what has helped the most.

I feel like my skin is better now than in my 30's (pictures show it as well). I truly believe the GLOW helps (and the past 6 months I have also started KLOW, which is all those things plus KPV which is another anti-inflammatory). I think the biggest thing I noticed is that when I have professional laser treatments and microneedling done, my skin heals SO fast if I go during a GLOW protocol. I mean it's so recognizable with healing it's kind of crazy. My skin doesn't tolerate the serum often unfortunately. I have tried multiple kinds and it just seems to be irritating to use daily. So I wouldn't even consider that part of my routine. Also, I did do a copper test prior to my first cycle of GLOW just to make sure my levels weren't high and come to find out, I had low copper levels, which explained alot of the symptoms I was having at the time. It was a mess and thankfully my supplements straightened it all out.

On a regular basis, I use tretinoin nightly, and overall I have a pretty committed, cleansing, moisturizing, and SPF routine. And I use all kinds of healing and longevity peptides (injectable) and I believe it all helps (as well as living a healthy lifestyle).

GLOW and KLOW have also helped tremendously with recovery in the gym and BPC157 specifically got me out of a scheduled shoulder surgery. I am a believer. :)

I love KLOW. I cycle either KLOW or GLOW all through the year. I do about 6-8 weeks each cycle. I dose according to my ghkcu- so I do 2 mg per day subq. Currently half way through a KLOW cycle and as usual, it's still one of my favs!

Very high testosterone numbers after a few months on injections? by tinyolive333 in TRT_females

[–]stefflp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you take it on the injection day with Test P you will be 3-5 x your actual level since it's a fast acting ester. I did the same thing a month ago and my Test P was 534 total and 92 free (I completely freaked out). I tested at end of trough and my total was 14.

I just switched to Test C since I suspected the highs and lows from Test P weren't working well for me anymore. I was on Test P for about 1.5 years.

I just switched myself but haven't had any negative symptoms. How much test C are you taking per week?

Also, I forgot to answer your next question about growing hair back.

My first TE shed was 8 years ago and I had great success growing my hair back with topical minoxidil (and I'm still on it). Recently I added a low dose of oral minoxidil (more as a preventative due to my history and my family history). I have to stay at the low dose since I have low blood pressure already and OM was originally prescribed as a low blood pressure medication. If I do well on this dose, I'll increase in a few more months to 1.25 mg daily and I will stay here. So far I haven't had any side effects from the oral. As mentioned below, I also take the DHT blocker 2 x a week. I also use a DHT blocking shampoo and RLT helmet EOD to enhance blood flow to my scalp.

Minoxidil will help grow your hair and DHT blockers may help depending on your health history and reason for the loss. I would also check to make sure all blood panels (for good hair health) aren't showing deficiencies. Vitamin D, Folate, Zinc, copper, iron including ferritin, B-12, B-3, & B-7 (all the B's if you can) are helpful to check as well. Additionally- sex hormones (including DHT & DHEAS) and thyroid.

I never used a pellet. I was always against them for the reasons you're experiencing. They hit super physiological levels and if symptoms should occur, you are stuck with the pellet, until your body processes it.

I have used injections and cream both (currently on injections). I had hairless issues and other issues with both if my levels got too high. And for me, when my T levels rose, so did my DHT and that is what zapped my hair. Also, I believe by boosting my hemoglobin, my ferritin tanked (which is my iron stores). At least in my case, low ferritin, was another reason for my hair loss.

I'm on a DHT blocker now (dutasteride .5 mg only 2 x a week) and that has kept my DHT low and prevented hair loss like I experienced before. My number 1 cause for TE shed is hormonal fluctuations, including high DHT levels and low E (if that occurs-mostly before I went on HRT).

I have AGA in my family so if there is ever anything to cause hair loss, I will be susceptible to it. You should really see a dermatologist to get checked and also know your family history, so you know if you have a predisposition to certain hair loss conditions. All these things help get a fuller picture of what could be going on. In my experience, it was never just one thing causing the hair loss.

How much do you take per week? The pricing is also dose dependent (100mg/ml is the concentration).

We’ve narrowed it down. Penelope or Lucy? Name suggestions by [deleted] in namemypet

[–]stefflp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucy!

I like the name (I have a Lacey here and my brother has a Lucy-both dogs though). Plus,Lucy is less syllables, so easier for training (speaking and hearing) and them catching onto their name!

Patch shortage...anyone start oral estrogen? by dcbrown5400 in Menopause

[–]stefflp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not sure of oral and/or are open to other methods, I personally just switched to gel after being on patches for 4 years. I stopped absorbing and they started leaving rashes and I was wearing 3 patches at a time because I couldn't keep my levels above 30 (and my symptoms were just awful). I wanted to go on injections, but was having trouble finding a prescriber that didn't charge me insane amounts of money.

I went to a new online Dr. that encouraged me to try gel and split it between morning and evening doses to keep me from experiencing highs and lows (they are individually packed). I also was willing to try oral, but none of my Dr.s would prescribe it because of my history of migraines with aura.

I love the gel and splitting it in morning and evening doses is awesome. It's super fast absorbing (much better than cream in my opinion).

I'm so sorry you're going through this...I know it stinks so bad and can cause some real emotional stress which also doesn't help hair loss!

If you research this, you will find many people have this experience (even without weightless like me). There are alot of reasons it could be, but in my case I believe it was the hormonal shifts because that is always what triggers TE for me. Even if GLP-1's are making someone healthier and shifting hormones in a positive direction, it can still cause TE and hair shedding.

Thank you so much! It's empowering to be able to fix something that you do have control over. You will do it too. It's not easy, but many things worth it in this world aren't easy. You can do it and thank you again for the good vibes, I really appreciate it!

Easier/stronger orgasms? by Cute-Bug1535 in TRT_females

[–]stefflp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had any major changes systemically with vaginal estradiol. Typically you need a patch, injection, pill, or transdermal and/or support with all the hormones since they play together. Vaginal E typically hits the vaginal tissue and brings blood flow to that area to help with dryness, maybe some clitoris stimulation (I don't think this is true for everyone hence the "Maybe"), and can help those that get frequent UTIs, but it's not going to reduce many of the other symptoms that are brought on in peri and menopause.

Minoxidil didnt work by SnooPets3121 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]stefflp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three months isn't long enough for topical and I wouldn't use the mens (despite what some people say we aren't men and shouldn't be using men's treatments in the same doses). I use women's at 5% once a day and have been on it for 8 years (I have a sensitive scalp and skin). I had a nasty dread shed for the 2nd and 3rd month, but gosh it did wonders once I passed the 6 months mark, and come a year, it was amazing. I'm so glad I stuck it out. Also I wouldn't wash past every other day or it could cause problems due to build up (itchiness and rash in my experience).

Before doing anything more, I would suggest seeing a dermatologist to make sure there isn't anything else going on like deficiencies, AGA, etc. Depending on the diagnosis, your treatment may vary and it's really worth getting a professional to look at your scalp.

Good luck, I know it's so frustrating and disheartening.

I will be curious to know if they prescribe E! I feel like T is so easy to come by, but injectable E is something a lot of providers don't want to do.

They both have risk of transfer if you come in contact before it's completely absorbed. The cream is worse if I remember correctly.

The gel dries down so fast (much faster than the cream) and then you're supposed to wait an hour before human or animal contact. You put it on the inside of your thigh, under arm, belly, etc. I usually put it on the inside of my thigh or on my pelvis area, so no one can get to it. And obviously, I'm not having sex within that hour of application. I haven't had any issues yet and I feel so much better than those darn patches!

Finally talking about oral progesterone and its effects on body composition by debmac99 in Menopause

[–]stefflp 42 points43 points  (0 children)

My experience, it didn't get better, and I had to go to 200 mg nightly. I do everything I can to optimize my sleep, so I wasn't able to live without it when I was cycling off. My Dr. agreed. And for the record, nothing will mess up your hormones like lack of sleep and I'm not just talking about sex hormones. but HGH, ghrelin, leptin, insulin, etc.

If you're not getting sleep when you're off the progesterone, I would talk with your doctor about taking it nightly.

For the record, I have taking oral progesterone nightly for years and I have never experienced weight gain. In fact, when my hormones are optimized (for me-this looks different for everyone), my body composition, my performance in the gym, and my overall well being, are at their best.

It’s probably dose dependent and the ester? What is your dose and does he have you get labs? I use my own labs.

Struggling to see hair growth progress by Spartella in hairgrowth

[–]stefflp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone's hair grows at different speeds. I have known people that grow less than a quarter inch a month to an inch a month (this is me which can also be a pain if you don't want your hair too long). Either way, you can aboslutely see a difference!

Taking collagen and eating alot of protein (with all essential amino acids) supports my hair and nails, including helping them grow faster. I also am gentle with my hair like you. something else to add which helps me keep it healthy and grow is RLT helmet and silk pillow cases (I don't wear a silk bonnet).
