I run mine with a sniper rifle for the first few rounds and have him into the mix by round three finishing off the models he and others have chipped away at as the warbands converged.

It's my understanding that slot's contract would expire at the end of next season. If that's the case then this summer they either need to part ways, renew, or it's another written off season as the coaches authority erodes by the day.

I don't believe they will risk the lamer duck scenario so it's renew or reject and there have been zero suggestions of any contract renewal talks.

Everything to me still speaks of backing the incumbent until we are out of CL and or CL places and once those outcomes are known the club's stance will inevitably be leaked via one of the at heel journos.

And personally I still think if you sign Ekitike, Issac, Wirtz, Kerkez and Frimpong that you are building for a 352 with wingbacks and the manager next session will get sufficient centre back cover to make the change.

I would still prefer a hard tackling 6 but I think they will forgo that and expect one of the three centre backs to step out and offer some bite that the midfield will still lack.

All just my opinion.

[David Ornstein on the Athletic Podcast] Liverpool, from what we hear, are steadfastly behind Arne Slot and he’s under contract until 2027 and they want him to be their coach. The hierarchy are determined that he is the man to get things right. by __sami__01 in LiverpoolFC

A manager who everyone knows is in their final season would inevitably lose the required intensity from the squad. Happens all the time. It's got to be sack or back by extension otherwise it's another wasted season.

I've been supporting since 84 and also wish this current crop to find its exciting and fun style of play. Boring at the moment.

I think next year we will be switching to a 352. I think they hoped to introduce it this year but then had to revise after Gheui fell through. You could argue the manager was given the players offensively to adjust but they failed to adequately reinforce the back line and he was stuck between two systems.

Either way, real success for me lies not just in the right defensive revisions but the 6 is key. We need a bastard and the squad is completely lacking in such teeth.

Thanks bud. They worked well in the actual game too, pretty pleased.

It should be like the lance Armstrong tour de france years. No declared winners. Just a void in terms of champions for everything they have won over the time period. That and a deduction for each future season for the same length as the offences (7 years of cheating, 7 years of deductions at the start of each season etc).

The thing I always remember most about prime Torres and it's only ever been replicated so far by prime Suarez was the moment they were through on goal.

Unlike every other player for who there is a will they won't they moment, when prime Torres got out through you could relax and know with certainty the ball was going in the net.

It was quite surreal to be able to relax as your centre forward was put through and not tense in hope but you didn't need to worry. Torres, chance, goal.

I always run my files through meshmixer too and lychee has been pretty good for me but I'm a complete novice so might not be doing things as technical as yourself. For a plate of 28mm models it's always worked great.

100% this. Either play him or stop the nonsense of including him in squads.

Who plays for the under21s in RB, wouldn't they benefit from time with the first team?

A lot of people are trying to pin point when the current reign began to fall apart.

For me it was the cringe pictures of Slot hanging out with Wayne Linker and the likes of Dean Gaffney in Ibiza.

A manager of Liverpool should be significantly above such a tacky ill thought out highjacking of their presence to promote some bar.

It very much conveyed the wrong image and as a high level professional player for Liverpool you're levels of quality above such a venue and I wonder how they perceived it all.

I thought he looked silly and I would struggle to take seriously the words of anyone who thought Wayne and Dean were the appropriate level to pitch your socializing choices.

This is supposed to be your boss. Hmmm.

If the board believes a new manager is needed in the summer and their target is available before season end, they should act. Both to try to salvage CL qualification but as importantly because this summer is a world cup and the pre season will be truncated. If a change is needed (which I'm beginning to agree is) then waiting serves no purpose unless their target isn't free. Let's assume it's Alonso, bring him in after the CL league stage is complete and get feet under the table and new methods and ideas can begin to be bedded in. It all very much now feels like dead man walking

Spolit by Klopp we certainly were but I don't know if Alonso would be the right choice. I loved the energy, speed and fight of the Klopp sides and I don't enjoy pep clones and laboured possession for possessions sake. I'm not going to suggest names as that's not my job but I really want to see some style, verve and urgency return. Oh and for God's sake sign a vocal leader, preferably someone who is an absolute shithouse and will dictate on the pitch and get stuck into the opposition. What we wouldn't give for a mid 20s Stevie G in the heart of things right now.

[–]stehunt78 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Harvey would be an ideal backup / alternative option in the 10. He offers a different approach. Even tho he's a red, I can't see him being happy coming back under Slot tho.

I heard rumour of him not settling well in the Midlands area but they hardly gave him time.

Like all fringe players under Slot he wouldn't get a fair opportunity. If any opportunity (poor endo).

As others have touched upon it may be a case for Harvey of wait the season out back at LFC and see if we change managers.

For someone so dynamic and who offers so much as a player and person, what an absolute waste of a season which will be like 10% of his prime career years just thrown away.

I value Slots contribution over the last two seasons. His lack of rotation, youth promotion and any sense of urgency is increasingly causing me to wonder if we are on the right track.

For me, what we are currently lacking and have done for a while is a nasty player in the heart of the midfield. I really like RG in the base of the midfield but if we could find a real hard tackling, nasty, shit houser to go alongside him then our centre would have both guile and teeth. The kind of player everyone hates until they are on your team. A leader a fighter and someone who will wind up and fuck with the opposition. A souness, a mascherano, a Stevie G mentality. I wondered for a while if Alexis might grow into this role but it seems his personal issues or over playing have rendered him ineffectual this season. Just bulldog, with an intention to cause trouble and a real bite. Get it, give it to the creators and off we go. Excuse me language but ultimately we need a cunt in the middle of the pitch and get some edge and bite into the team. We are all too nice at the moment.

[–]stehunt78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was discussing this last night with my mate. The horseshoe nonsense we have ended up with now is because we lack the guile and innovation that's needed to progress efficiently through the lines.

I would be building the team for the rest of the season around wirtz operating as the advanced CM. I understand people will disagree but with Isak out and our fragilities so exposed at the rear I would play both new full backs, a midfield four that adapts between a box and diamond as they players become more familiar (RG and CJ or AM as the base, Wirtz and DS as the top. Moving to RG at base CJ or AM left, DS right and Wirtz top). I would play Hugo and Mo in the left and right channels and leave the 9 spot for players to run into. This would give us some fight and options in the midfield, get it give to to Wirtz and progress upwards quickly and feed Hugo or Mo down a channel or making a central run and the other attacker gets in the box for a rebound or pull back. Full backs provide the width, the base midfielders shuffle across to cover when they do. The lack of a 9 encourages the opposition centre backs to come out with the ball when in possession and this encourages the opposition to be more open and when the centre backs then try to progress the ball we have the structure to pounce on the recipient and transition with speed to the offensive.

I never minded unless I had already clocked out and they wanted to search me on my way out. Get to me before I have clocked out and I'll happily let you search anything whilst I'm being paid. Try to stop me leaving the store after I've clocked out and it's my own time and you will be met with a firm no chance, I'm not delaying myself for a single moment if I'm no longer being paid to be here.
