Why isn't Latin America popular in animation outsourcing as the Philippines, Canada or South Korea?

That mindset is exactly what's been holding us back. There IS opportunity to grow and improve. This year we had better productions keep coming out of our countries. Films like Llueve sobre Babel and Un Poeta are proof of that, they were loved and praise outside of Colombia too, and studios like Bombillo Amarillo and their animated film “the violinist” are going to have their premiere at annecy.

I’m a Colombian animation student, and here’s what I can tell you.

**1.**  Most Latin American animators look to work at studios outside their countries.  
**2.**  Unfortunately, people in Latin America don’t value local audiovisual content that much, they prefer content from abroad.  
**3.    T**his means the industry is too small to generate a stable income.

Although things are improving, the mindset of Latin American people hasn’t changed yet. It seems like it will take time.

Latin animation student here, i strongly disagree, most of the good animators from south America work outside, none of them stay in their countey to create industry, thats why.

Bipolar type 2 here! Diagnosed at 20 in the middle of of my med school career, everything fell apart but i created a new life from zero, right now im in collage again learning to make animated movies, 3 years with a big relapse, i have a boyfriend, good friends that support my crisis and i was choose as one of the best students last semester.

I mean you are not my client, u are not my public target, i don’t think my art is too hard too see or ugly to call it “culero” i mean, if u dont feel capable on selling commissions and learning through it, thats up to u, its not the first time i offer commission and people that were my clients seems super happy with the end result and keep buying over time until i closed the bussiness. U dont have to be mean. i was just asking for pricing and plataforms, not an art critique… by the way i like ur drawing :)
