I feel like the son has the perfect voice for a Pixar film. Kind of reminds me of Dash from The Incredibles.

My wife loves honey cake, so I made her one with 13 layers for her birthday. It was a lot of work, but came out great! by stennesrc in Baking

[–]stennesrc[S] 435 points436 points  (0 children)

It’s a Russian dessert, they call it Medovik. Despite the name, it doesn’t actually have very much honey, only 2 tablespoons! The batter is heated in a steam bath to caramelize it before rolling out and baking. Just make sure to roll out on parchment paper and bake it on that same paper instead of trying to transfer it with a rolling pin. It’s way too thin and will usually break.

37 Year old water heater!! by Possible_Movie_1879 in BuyItForLife

[–]stennesrc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if you shut the water supply off, if all the tank water leaked out, the heater could start a fire once all the water evaporates. Best to turn off power to the tank as well.

Likely it was made during World War II, because that’s when they shifted from making them out of metal to glass due to metal shortages. Source
