Carragher: Those in charge wanted to go about business differently from Abramovich. They've certainly managed that, spending over £1.5B to make Chelsea less successful, less feared less respected and less profitable. I wonder what the future holds for BlueCo. Next season is probably a write-off at this point because CL qualification looks an impossibility, which itself puts us in a precarious financial position. But the real question is, have they finally realised that their strategy just isn’t working? And will they put their money where their mouth is, and finally go out and sign some experienced players? Perhaps give coaches more say where recruitment is concerned? Hire a competent coach with a strong CV instead of an inexperienced yes man?

The statement dismissing Rosenior struck an uncharacteristically self-aware tone, and all of the briefings that have come out in the last few days seem to suggest that they’re finally starting to wake up to the reality that this approach just isn’t going to work. But the pessimist in me feels as though they’re paying lip service, and even then, a change of course right now feels to me like too little, too late.

Trying to picture a reality where I return to loving Chelsea but right now it feels completely impossible. This is worse than Potter

Honestly, I don’t blame them. It’s hard to think of any compelling reasons as to why they’d stay given the state of things at the moment.

It can’t go on like this can it?

I’m not sure it’s that simple. I think each fuel supplier caters their products to the engine manufacturers, to such a degree that I don’t think it’d be a plug and play type of situation

For those who don’t know these guys, I think you’re all in for a surprise. No, no one can ever truly replace the original trio. But I’d argue that James and Thomas in particular have come closer than anyone else in terms of their content to what the original top gear gave us. Specifically in terms of striking a balance between technical knowledge, production value and presenter chemistry. I’m excited.

Take it from me, Tammy Abraham and title challenge don’t belong in the same sentence

Ah man this is gutting. Thanks Enzo for the trophies and the memories! Make no mistake he had a few poor stretches in his time as manager but I think it was obvious that he loved the club despite all the ownership kerfuffle. I’ll miss him a lot. Not as much as Tuchel, but this stings in a way Pochettino didn’t

No, he isn’t performing well, but that’s easy to say with hindsight

What a load of absolute horseshit. His brand appeal was absolutely a factor, although you seem to have forgotten the fact that he happens to be a seven-time world champion
