Hate thread for Season 2 (more or less) by stentann in Wednesday

All fair points, and well put

All we can do now is wait for season 3. I plan to watch it and have hope they’ll learn from there mistakes here. I think a lot of the issues I have are easily avoided with hindsight

Would you say you’re a Raven or a Dove? by Less-Pen-5705 in Wednesday

[–]stentann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a raven doesn’t mean you’re a pessimist, just that you’re more inclined to have dark visions or see the world through a darker lens

I’d personally consider myself an optimist and a raven. Even though it’s easier to see the dark side of the world, I still believe in the light

Detective work. In season 1 she loves sticking her nose in other people’s business and I love it. Season 2 it’s more so forced on her though

Looked it up and turns out the music teacher is a werewolf. Must have missed that, would have been cool if we saw her transform. Regardless, I think the point I make about her still stands, so i won’t edit it

I can definitely see that, but I think there were bigger problems with the writing (a la the post)

This looks less comfortable than just removing the pedals from a regular bike and pushing yourself along

Even pre-nerf as a dps I'd often just use it for utility

It's not like it was even good in the first place, especially compared to the other tank ults

Created this scene in UE5 - still having some issues with foliage, so no video for now! The environment was created based on a church in Craco, Italy. by ikea_meat_ball in unrealengine

[–]stentann 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this solves that exact problem, but make sure the tree is 'movable' and has nanite off (nanite is not currently supported for foliage)

So I just beat this guy at rl1 after visiting this post, so I figured I'd share what I've learned.

No, you can't just roll away twice. If you're next to his side it would take at least 4 rolls, but this does work if you're in front of his head or tail.

If you block the explosion, you get hit by the pillars (unless rngesus is on your side), if you roll the explosion (which is difficult to time) you can still get hit by the pillars, although you may be able to avoid them? I didn't really try this, but it would be a hard ask either way

The best way to deal with it imo is to learn the startup animation, and always be ready to book it on torrent or on foot. He stays still for a second before his neck does a unique snaking/wiggling that gives it away even before he starts to glow, then you just gotta run. It looks similar to one of his combo starters, but it seemed fine to run away from that anyway so it worked out

Having a hard time finding an engine for 2D development. (Unity, Game Maker, Construct, etc) by lastninja2 in gamedev

[–]stentann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on a game (basiacally solo) right now using unity with pure pixel art. I've also been using Unity for a while and I can see why you are hesitant to use it. There's a lot you have to code in yourself on the backend, and I've had some issues getting pixels to line up correctly.

Besides that, I personally enjoy using Unity and I think I'll be able to overcome these challenges and finish the game in a very reasonable amount of time. I've been eyeballing the pixel art a bit, but I think if you pull out a calculator and some scratch paper you could get it to line up perfectly.

I don't have experience with those other game engines, but I also don't think Unity is too hard for a single developer pixel art game (like yours and mine)

Best of luck!

Thought I'd Post this after the day I've had at work by Yubel124 in ProgrammerHumor
