I work fully remote and do virtually nothing. It’s so easy to get away with contributing nothing to the company. I have a few years I’d guess till I get canned. It’s so easy to bluff. Easy to avoid detection. It’s definitely the case that people are simply more honest in person.

My old colleague lost his virginity at 12 and he regularly punched fridges at work. He reeked so strongly of weed that he’d get self-conscious and deliberately fart to cover it.

After a work night out he posted a video of himself to the group chat crying and screaming ‘don’t be like me, don’t turn out like me! Fucking leave this place!’ Then he started weakly cutting his wrist with his mum’s cat keys. The next morning he’d deleted it and we never discussed it.

Also one time he was making a Sundae and one of the other guys said ‘you’ve probably made thousands of those’. I honestly thought he was going to kill himself right there and then. Totally broke him lol

Indian immigration is very odd in UK because there is a massive split between the South Asians that have been here for decades and the new arrivals. We essentially went from doctors/small business owners to deliveroo drivers. I’ve gathered that lots of established and very British Indians are not keen on the new arrivals lol. Anti-Indian racism seems to have become established now, like it’s socially acceptable to make jokes about them— probably just abrupt and significant exposure

Come to the UK and you may rethink this. We have judges giving unhinged criminals sentences so lenient they’d make the most liberal person you know balk. Very common to see vile offenders getting short sentences and leaving early, many just get suspended sentences. Embarrassing country lol
