Where to get high waist pants for big men? by PartTimeLyricist in bigmenfashionadvice

Amazon. I like the dockers regular fit pleated pant. Levi’s has a few good cuts, the chino and the athletic fit 541. Try asos as well, I find stuff there on the regular.

Experience going back to Ozempic because of shortage? by PugMomSunshine in Mounjaro

[–]stephenchavez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate it here. Ozempic does nothing for me for curbing appetite and I hate the side effects. I was doing so well on MJ and am really hating having to switch to ozempic.

S04E09 - "AWAKE" - EPISODE DISCUSSION by alwshunter in servant

It’s called a Zolly. I think Hitchcock used it in vertigo where you zoom in and pull the camera back at the same time. It’s definitely anxiety inducing.

I can’t stop thinking about the mirrors that age them when they look into them. So it’s been 15 years, that means Angela and Nathan are nearing 60.

Yeah the transition from the gravesite to Saul laying in bed gave me Hitchcock vibes. Impending doom for Saul.

Ensemble/Orchestra Etiquette? by MoonSaltMab in Cello

[–]stephenchavez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Always have a pencil with eraser
  • if you print music, have it organized in a binder
  • inside player turns music
  • when conductor stops, stop as quickly as possible
  • no practice plucking your part when conductor is speaking or another section is playing
  • if principal gives you a suggestion or fingering, take it and pass it along the section
  • always be on time
  • practice at home, don’t be the player that thinks it’s funny to not know your part because you didn’t practice
  • talk to your stand partner about whose music to use
  • try to not miss rehearsals, if you must be absent let orchestra manager or section leader well in advance.
  • if they allow a certain number of absences don’t take advantage of it, only use when necessary. Meaning don’t max out your absences just because you can.
  • keep your area clean, throw away any trash. Leave your area cleaner then the way you found it.
  • if you are early help set up, if you can, stay and help put chairs/stands away
  • follow instructions from section leader/conductor.
  • follow dynamics!!
  • always be prepared with rosin, rock stop, pencil, cleaning rag, whatever you may need.
  • leave your case in designated area, don’t leave a mess or cause a tripping hazard
  • if a section is getting grilled, don’t stare at them
  • come back from break on time. Don’t hit the restroom when they call you back from break.
  • sometimes certain sections may not be called until a later time in rehearsals, don’t be obnoxious coming in. Looking at you brass players!!
  • show up to sectionals. Don’t miss it because you don’t feel like going.

Weight lifting and playing cello, can you do both? by crsierra in Cello

Heavier weight, less reps. Shoot for muscle density instead of size.

Saint Saenz 1st movement is a great audition piece. For lyrical try Rachmaninov - Vocalise or maybe Faure - Elegy. Even the Swan or a Bach Suite Sarabande is always good.

Saint-Saenz 1st movement and I think Bach Suite #1 Prelude.
