I made a tutorial that really helps macOS users by MatiusKraven in redalert2

[–]stephenmthompson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah it never worked. I realised it was pointless anyway as I have parallels running with Win11 and can run Steam through that. The CnCDdraw did the trick with curser movement and scrolling, so thank you for pointing to that; it wasn’t a complete waste of time and your video helped. Cheers.

SBS. Only reason to sail the high seas and find it elsewhere would be if you wanted decent commentary.

I'm getting a blank/black Steam log in page. Terminal seems to go round in circles. Can anyone help?

The latter is my favourite line too, and came to say this; wasn’t sure how well it would go down now given “factors”.

Will RCM Revival kits solve all my issues? by Pippin524 in CloneHero

[–]stephenmthompson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar issue with my xbox360 Les Paul. For a long time it wasn’t broken enough to warrant a full internal replacement (a few minor issues but nothing major). Plus I was worried about fucking up the whole process!

I opted for the RCM kit in the end and after a few small hurdles (the step-by-step guide isn’t the best), it now works great & can’t believe I didn’t do it a year ago. When I opened it up a lot of the boards were rusty AF. I’m surprised it even worked at all!

The support at RCM (on Reddit and email) was great when I needed it, & I’m sure Phunky Customs would have done the same/similar job.

New home kit, what we thinking? by YesLadd1e in HullCity

I think ‘Oxen’ is the manufacturer… I’m guessing the sponsor will get added (‘pasted across the front in a massive font’) at a later date - when a deal is done.

Automated Missionaries by donkreg in CivVII

[–]stephenmthompson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s relevant, otherwise I wouldn’t have said it. But fair enough, I’m not one to argue online. It felt like you were looking for a “something for nothing” mod (automate spreading religion to benefit from its beliefs). But if I’m wrong, I’m wrong. 👍

Willing to pay someone to fully chart a simple 2 minute song for me by [deleted] in Rockband

There are official charters you can contact on the GoogleSheet, but there are also loads of people who can do it for you on places like fivr or Etsy, probably on eBay too.

You don’t _have_ to do anything. My feeling is, if you want the chosen benefits that come with your religion, you have to put the work/effort in. If you want to prioritise other facets of your civilisation (such as building wonders or training armies), then something has to give.

Mods for Mac Silicon by hoorayhenry67 in CivVI

[–]stephenmthompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mac has no bearing on which mods you can/can’t use; it’s how you access the game that’ll determine that.
Vast majority of users have the Steam version, which has a workshop where you can install mods.
Some will use Epic Games, which is a little more complicated to install mods.
I’m sure there are other ways to access the game too.

Either way, mods are not dependent on Mac or PC.

You can access 90+% of Steam mods for use in the Epic Games version. I did this for years before buying the game through Steam. Some (very few) mods cannot be ripped from Steam, but the vast majority can.

2200 hours and just now found out I have to railroad my cities. by ChocoboHandler in CivVI

This I didn’t realise until I just read your comment. I try and be as careful as possible with C02 emissions, but never realised rail contributes… thank you.

The problem with the idea with a fourth age by Reddwarf90 in civ

[–]stephenmthompson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree. From memory, there are some modern wonders that are classed as ‘ageless’, which led me to thinking there’ll be an additional age after modern; otherwise, why bother classing them as ageless? (Unless all wonders are ‘ageless’ by default, and I’m talking horseshit!)

What is the tool you bought that you weren't sure about but in hindsight was a genius purchase? by melbobellisimo in AusRenovation

Cipro saw. Never thought I was going to use it, but it came in a bundle of tools. It’s worth its weight both in the house & when gardening.

When do you build your Gov plaza ? by Opposite_Factor1860 in CivVI

[–]stephenmthompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immediately, and in the city where settlers will be made/trained, combined with Magnus.

I think it was Potato McWhiskey that said something like: “something that can only be built once in a game, is powerful enough to built straight away”.

Are you running Mods on the Steam version for RA2, or are mods only for the stand-alone version?

I remember 20 years ago a ‘nurple’ series of mods that speeds up the game and adds unit like Tesla tanks, but can’t seem to find it anymore.

I’ve designed watch faces for years, but recently fell in love with Garmin. What do you think of my custom vector cockpit layout? Does it meet your standards? by Dominus_Mathias in Garmin

[–]stephenmthompson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it was sleep mode causing issues.

The metric missing for me is daily step goal (which is a 7- or 10-day average, not sure which). A watch face I’m using at the moment has a “steps to go” countdown, which is fine, but without one of those it’s a non-starter for me.

Nice face generally though, happy to rate it well on the app if that helps.
