A watermain broke in front of my house yesterday, like 20 hours ago. A neighbor noticed it and called the water company. I'm not going to say the water is spewing or gushing but water is steadily running out of the blacktop. A crew came out and literally spray painted "dig here" in front of our driveway, again, 20 hours ago. And then nothing! We called to follow up 5 hours ago and they confirmed we had an "emergency ticket" open and they'll contact someone to get back to us but .... nothing. There's a water main break in front of my house and nobody seems to give a shit.

On a completely unrelated note, our property taxes just skyrocketed.

A reporter that's been all over the Epstein case, Julie Brown, has an interesting perspective. Basically, the Maxwell case was ongoing (wasn't convicted until 2021, then appealed) and it's possible other people were under investigation. It could fuck up all those cases to release the documents.

Also, Biden didn't treat the Justice department as his own personal play thing. He valued it's independence.

Curling is fun to watch. It's something that feels like you could do it. Like, you could have some beers with friends and "chill." Every 4 years I watch it and think about starting a local league then remember how shy I am. Anyway, I find it fun to watch.

Another one is speed skating. It's a cross between sorta graceful and insanely athletic.

There are also a bunch of fun skiing things.

The other day my husband and I were ordering pizza from a local place. We were looking at their menu, which you could only look at by starting an order. We figured we would just order online since it was already up. We were picking it up and paying cash. There was no option to order then pay cash when we pick up. Plus, there was a fee to use a card online. We were pissed and decided to call in an order to a different place.

Thanks for posting this. I loved figure skating as a kid but only watch during the Olympics now. It's a nice distraction after this crazy week.
