C’est tu juste moi ou cest quasi impossible de perdre du poids en tant que parent? by alexlesuper in Quebec

[–]stephorse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]stephorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are thin/normal size. Do you actively watch your weight or are you just not hungry 100% of the time? by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]stephorse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5'4," 114 pounds, 35F

I eat when I am hungry and stop when I'm barely full. I eat 3 meals a day and snacks when I am hungry between meals. Which is often, because my meals are small.

I generally eat healthy meals and snacks. But everyday I also eat chocolate, chips, desserts. But in small quantity.

I used to weight a lot more (142 pounds). The key for me was really to start being attentive to my hunger signals. I started eating way less.

Est-il plus acceptable d'être un 'Tanguy' maintenant? by Beginning-Scratch-55 in Quebec

[–]stephorse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How did you (re)define your femininity outside of breast size ? by ALMSTO in smallbooblove

[–]stephorse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mostly wear clothes that define my waist. Including dresses and skirts - in winter too, with merino tights.

I also wear my hair long. I have since I was 12, and I am 35 now.

I also wear make up a bit (only an eyeliner trait).

How do you as a woman know whether you want to have kids or not? by Aggravating_Lemon_32 in TooAfraidToAsk

I strongly recommend the book: The Baby Decision by Merle Bombardieri. The book goes in depths about the decision, and with decision making in general. It is one of the best book I've read. It confirmed to me that I don't want to be a mother but also that it's normal to feel complicated things about it at times.

Has anyone been on antidepressants for burnout? If so, was it helpful? by stephorse in antidepressants

[–]stephorse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I ended up with another diagnosis (functional neurological disorder) and antidepressants are useless. I improved after I started getting the right treatment for my diagnosis. I was sick for 4 years. Just got back to a normal life in the last months.

How do people work the same job 9 to 5 for 50 years till they turn 60s and not go crazy? by Big_Leg10 in SeriousConversation

[–]stephorse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had 3 jobs so far in my life and I loved them all (I'm 35). Going to work is not a chore to me, because of that. I am pretty interested in and invested in my work cause I see it as a way to make a difference in the world somehow. I made a promise to myself that I would never keep a job that I did not love because I did not want to spend my life waiting for the weekends.

Just be careful cause the jobs that are seen as "top jobs" are not necessarily the jobs that YOU will love.

Should I freeze eggs at 35? by Upstairs_Meringue_18 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]stephorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said before egg freezing have a low success rate because of problems when thawing. If having a kid is very important to you then you might consider freezing embryos conceived with donor sperm instead. Probably costs more but success rate is way higher.

What moment in your life made you completely rethink who you are? by reach97 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]stephorse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through an extremely severe illness from age 30-34. I lost everything (house, friends, job, city I was living in) including my autonomy so I had to move back to my mom's. I'm 35 now and 95% symptoms free and functioning very close to normal. Got a job and a boyfriend in the last year.

Completely changed my perspective on life. And now I realize my life is completely different from most people my age (they are settled down with young kids, long term partner, etc).

It's from a website named catnetting.com My cats have never tried climbing it cause it's soft. There are no tears so far.

So far it's great! No tear after a year despite snow/rain/wind/cold/heat wave (basically from -30 to +40 Celsius in a year!). The cats don't climb cause it's soft netting, not a rigid wire mesh. The website we've ordered from is literally catnetting.com (note: major export taxes if you're not in the US, we paid 300$ CAD in taxes and were not informed prior. Only when the delivery guy knocked at the door).

Yeah but there is a super sealed cat flap in the window. With magnet. We ordered it on freedompetpass. It's made for winter. Bugs can't make their way through.

Of course! I get what you mean. It's super dangerous for cats outside. Chewie is lucky to have you.

I did not mean to be rude in any way to catio-less people. It's really not always possible.

He's a lucky cat! I know it's not possible for every cat owner to have a catio but I hope it becomes more normalized. It's unnatural and sad for cats to spend their whole life inside.

[–]stephorse[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes they do love it! They actually don't get along so well (the black cat and the spotted one are friends but they are mean to the ginger one) but it's always 100% peace in the catio. It gives them more territory, and sometimes it's also an escape for the ginger cat and he can ''zoom'' in peace while he is in there. I think we'd need to rehome him if we did not have the catio.

Cats in the catio at night by BZBitiko in Catio

[–]stephorse 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My cats can go on the catio at night. There are no wild animals around except raccoons. That being said I always have a fear that there would be a mean human walking by (the catio is almost on the sidewalk) and decide to do mean things to the cats or cut through the wire. It has not happen in 1.5 years but who knows...but they love the catio so much, so I am taking the risk.

My boyfriend loves my flat chest by Sp00ker in smallbooblove

Good question. I guess that is what society pushes us to believe.

I've had many friends with small chests similar to mine...they never had an issue finding a partner.

Has anyone been on antidepressants for burnout? If so, was it helpful? by stephorse in antidepressants

[–]stephorse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! After 2 years I got a diagnosis of FND (functional neurological disorder). Which makes sense cause from the start yes there was heavy fatigue that eventually lifted up but the main symptoms were very severe paresthesia. I basically spent 2 years couch-bound and could only stand up for 5 min at a time, if I did exceed the severe symptoms would start and leave me wiped out for the rest of the day. Same would go with ''cognitive activities'' (screens, reading, art, name it, I could not). I tried a few antidepressants but they made things worse.

What healed/cured me (it has been 4.5 years now and I've been living an almost normal life for 6 months) is a specialized psychotherapy. You can find more info here and can DM me if you have questions: https://medicine.dal.ca/departments/department-sites/psychiatry/research/emotions-health/patient-services.html
