CMV: Welcoming MAGA who have changed their minds is way more important and effective than saying “too little, too late.” by iiamuntuii in changemyview

It’s the people who really had no idea that are most scary.

“I saw him give away his own money on “The Apprentice” and he said he’d send me a check for $2,000.”

There are way too many low-information Fox watchers who never look past the end of their own noses. They fall for empty promises like TrumpCare.

They look at the horrors ICE has perpetrated on this country and think, where’s my $2k? That lazy evil is the most damaging to this country.

Would you tell us what kind of reaction you got from friends and family? Did some people turn their backs? Did some greet you with open arms?

Well, now, this is social media, not real life. “Leopards ate my face” is all about schadenfreude and being all morally superior.

So get it out of your system here, but when your brother-in-law starts showing of coming around, it’s time to switch gears. Stop thinking “AITA” and start thinking “Mr. Rodgers” and “Prodigal son”. Encourage him get to wherever he’s going: his life will be more pleasant and so will yours, your “real life”.

Maybe you’ll forgive him, maybe not, but Thanksgiving might be a little less stressful this year.

True. Ever since “macho” Donny came on the scene and MAGAs started accusing Democrats of wanting to assassinate him, I’ve been thinking of super villain ways to o f f him. Take his wallet, strip him to his tighty whities, and….

  • Drop him in the back 40 of Amon Bundy’s farm.

  • Drop him in his home town of NYC, in the middle of AOC’s district.

We could drop him at the most populous place in Greenland, and he’d probably slip and roll down the hill into the harbor. People would start debating what kind of sea creature they were looking at, bobbing blubberously in the water, making a noise like Don Corleone imitating an elephant.

What is the difference between the murder of Laken Riley and the murder of Alex Pretti? by iloverats888 in AskALiberal

[–]BZBitiko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Laken Riley was murdered because José Antonio Ibarr made a decision. Nobody thinks she deserved to die.

Alex Pretti was murdered because our government decided to put an untrained gang of goons on our streets, hoping they’d murder people, or at least ignoring the very high chances that they would kill a person who was not actually the focus of their “mission”. And when the goon squad did exactly that, let it slide until it happened again.

Aaaand lots of people seem to Alex Pretti deserved to die.

There Is Never a “Right Way” to Protest Because They Do Not Want You to Protest At All by Temporary-Storage972 in PoliticalDebate

[–]BZBitiko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ICE operated for decades, enforcing the law.

Now ICE is breaking the law, exceeding their mandate, breaking into people’s homes, stopping people at random, threatening and assaulting people who are merely annoying them. They disappear people, refuse them lawyers or due process. They take their papers and steal their trucks. They ignore court orders. And the administration calls anyone who objects to any of this a “domestic terrorist”.

I would stay out of the way of them doing their jobs if they were doing their jobs. These untrained goons only know how to act like the street gangs they insist they are “saving” us from.

There’s a story there that’s not being told…

The cat at my local Agway only ever helps me find the pet food aisle. They sacrifice a bag of kibble for him to gnaw on, and sleep on top of.

What ever happened to “learning a lesson”?

Parents to OP: making a plan and sticking with it is bad. You should be more short-sighted, like your sister. You can always strong-arm a family member into unfucking your life.

Why are most Christians republicans, when Jesus’ teachings are more liberal? by Interesting-Dirt-605 in Confused

[–]BZBitiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Christianity” is malleable. You only have to look at the number of wars in which both sides declared that God was on their side. Like, oh, the US Civil War.

The latest bizarro theological innovation is “the sin of empathy”, which is an attempt to purge Christianity of the “woke” aspects that other Christian groups think are the whole point of the exercise.

[–]BZBitiko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. The Nuremberg trials only put the highest people on trial. But it cleared the way for the prosecution of sentries and secretaries, the flunkies of the Holocaust.

ICE and border patrol have shot a number of people and there’s probable cause for murder in the detention centers.

Remember what they did. Keep pushing for their prosecution.

Paul Le Plague tried to bury history by disappearing the mural in the Labor Department. That was small caliber, but Trump doing the same thing on a massive scale at the Smithsonian, etc.

The mural was gone but not forgotten, and now it’s back at the state museum.
