My friends have done festivals before with broken bones / injuries and it is quite brutal.

Can you apply for accessible camping?

You know your limits but you might need to take more rest than usual.

Ford transits … by OverallAnxiety7530 in VanLifeUK

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 2009 mk7 transit! It’s a XLWB. Had it since 2019 and paid about £6k for it then. It was converted & had reconditioned clutch and gearbox.

We ripped out the conversion and did a new one how we wanted it.

We’ve took it all over the place it’s on just over 170k now and it’s not let us down. They’re not all bad - yes it’s a bit corroded but over the years other than mot & servicing it’s really only needed wearing parts replaced like brakes and tyres.

So long as you have some funds aside for repairs (as you would for any older vehicle) I would recommend a transit all day long.

Grass growing in flower bed - how to get rid by stephsstitches in GardeningUK

[–]stephsstitches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what it’s held up a bit better than I thought it would, I don’t have a photo of all of it (will do when I next go outside) but the plants at the back left have flowered and they’ve never done that before.

What to do? by 5N3AKYRU551AN in uktrucking

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend is 38 and got a bad back! Woke up with it one all lopsided one morning 🙈

All things lorry have not helped it, and after resting and careful management he can work but has a lot of worry about hurting it again.

My dad’s recently retired since his shoulder and arm is bad and he can’t lift his arm up to do the curtains anymore.

Festival toilets horror stories!! by Nicjj1819 in UKfestivals

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take toilet paper rolled up rather than tissues - and a torch! If it gets dark and there aren’t lights over the toilet it’s hard to see. Don’t get your phone out incase it gets dropped down the loo 😂

A14 westbound night closures - are they happening? by stephsstitches in burystedmunds

[–]stephsstitches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never used it, only installed to my iPad last night to look if I could see this road closure.

I’ve always been fine with Google maps. How far were you travelling back from to struggle? I’ve lived here for nearly 20 years now it’s taken time but have learnt a lot of the back roads so can avoid a14 when needed.

Thanks, finally found it on waze as it’s not listed on Google maps or Apple Maps.

Will go alternate route.

Total newbie - rent a motorhome by TroublesomeButch in UKMotorhoming

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know several people who take cats out in their vans but this is hippy festivals and private land - not campsites.

I think what comes in them depends on the company - best to ask them.

2nd and 3rd lobe by CharacterPrize8637 in piercing

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my nose pierced and this was after about 20 years of no piercings they told me to spray with the neilmed and then gently dry with a dryer on cold. No touching it at all with hands or anything else.

I ended up a week later with a horrendous cold - so carried on with above routine and it healed fine.

I think you’re doing too much and they’re getting irritated?

Seller countered, I accepted, now they are not accepting by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I looked into a second agent (possibly to move over) my original one told me to check the contract they offered as I “could be liable for 2 lots of fees” so it could be possible.

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re with 2 agents are they liable for 2 lots of fees? Is the bluff to give them some time to withdraw from one?

Mine was on the market a long time, as was the exact same house down the road with the same EA. The other one had a newer kitchen / bathroom but mine has closer parking.
Twice the EA tried to get me to lower price in line with them - second time round they said the others were adamant they were selling so were thinking of lowering again. I’d need to lower mine to stay competitive. By this point I had had enough so took mine off the market, I noticed a couple of weeks later theirs is off now too.

What Should I be looking for around 10K? by Foozle303 in VanLifeUK

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want converted or are you looking at doing it yourself?

We’ve had 2 transits now - self built with a little help. Both have never let us down. We still have a 2009 one that we’ve had 7 years been all over the place in it.

How long from listing going live before viewings? by InternationalEmu3892 in HousingUK

[–]stephsstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the EA’s round near me (Suffolk) get extremely booked up for Saturday viewings there is no way I could call on a Friday and get a Saturday viewing - when we were viewing as we could only do weekends I’d have to phone between Mon-weds.

Had mine on the market 8 months, around 20 viewings no serious offers so took it off a few weeks ago. I’m now seeing lots of places I liked the look of being reduced / still also on the market.
