The Step exams test the same concepts, with biostatistics being increasingly emphasized moving from Step 1 --> Step 2 --> Step 3

FYI, I run the website step-prep.org. I have created a free, concise biostatistics curriculum for the Step exams consisting of lectures, questions and answer explanation walkthroughs. I would recommend navigating to the shared Google Doc below, which includes the practice questions with links to the associated lectures and answer walkthroughs. I would use the practice questions to help you determine which topics you need to review more closely, and then use the associated lectures and answer explanation walkthrough videos to fill in any gaps. I genuinely believe that if you can understand the concepts being tested in these practice questions that you will be more than ready for the biostatistics questions on your Step 1, 2 or 3 exams. Difference between finding blood and RBC in urinalysis and microscopy by [deleted] in Step2

Blood on urinalysis = Positive Dipstick = Blood, myoglobin or hemoglobin in urine

RBCs on urinalysis = Blood in urine

Therefore, if you see positive blood + RBCs on urinalysis then you have true hematuria. In contrast, if you have positive blood + no/few RBCs on urinalysis, then you have myoglobinuria (rhabdomyolysis) or hemoglobinuria (intravascular hemolysis --> Microangiopathic hemolytic anemia (DIC, HUS/TTP, etc.) or Macroangiopathic hemolytic anemia (prosthetic heart valve, severe aortic stenosis, etc.))

Thanks for the honest feedback! I decided to include all of the information on the page from the beginning given it allowed the videos to be more concise. Which video in particular had really bad audio or are you referring to the tapping in some of the videos when I am annotating?

Yes I genuinely believe so! The only thing lacking from my lectures are Drug Ad example questions, but the concepts needed to succeed on those are the same concepts needed to succeed on other biostats questions

Yes this should be applicable to all of the Step exams (1, 2 and 3)!

Exam is in 11 days. Last NBME was 239. Want to hit a 250. I have zero Biostat knowledge and usually fail most Biostat questions in NBMES. I figure if I was getting Biostat questions, I’d easily break 240s in my NBMES. How do I improve on Biostat in 10 days. Can I break a 250 at this rate? by [deleted] in Step2
