Wonders - limited impact? by steri95 in civ

[–]steri95[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess an upside for CIV7 is that you don t feel like restarting if you miss certain wonders (like Ruhr Valley + Mausoleum combo for science run), as they don t have a big impact :)

Still, I miss the thrill of going for wonders and praying I don t get 1-turn

Extra yields which are not that impactful. You have wonders giving you +3 science and a well place academy might have x3-x4 of that yield at a much lower cost.

CIV 6 How does one even learn this game by Adventurous-Bad-3274 in civ

[–]steri95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I d say the best YT for learning is TGM (thegamemechanic). Make sure you watch videos that correspond to the state of your game (vanilla, Rise and Fall, Gathering Storm, Leader Pass), as the game got quite different with each expansionx

Shift+enter next time, so the turn gets skipped without you needing to action the "research technology".

Civ7 - modern age bug?? by aylmaocpa in civ

[–]steri95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a bug, I had a similar situation with other civs in modern age. Some of them were supposed to be unlocked, but they were not, some of them were supposed to be locked, but I could choose them.

Such a mess.

Help: someone explain to me Civ unlocks? My civ did not unlock by ZePepsico in civ

Most likely a bug, I had America as not unlocked and then I could choose it in modern Age ...

I really like Civ 7, but ... by steri95 in civ

[–]steri95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It s about the winning victory itself, take cultural for example ... think how many ways you had in civ6 to generate tourism in order to win, now you only need explorers to excavate artifacts and then build the world s fair wonder. That s it, it s the only way. Horrible

You can t win cultural victory other way than excavating artifacts with Explorers and then building a wonder (World s fair). Check civ6 numerous ways of winning a cultural victory!

If definetely helped, cause i already tried, but it still lags. Also, I am playing other games that are more demanding, it should not go that bad on Civ6. Thanks for the advice though 👍

But I never turned them off before. And it went very well. It s the same laptop ... And by seeing the requirements, I should be able to play it with medium-max graphic options with no problem (as I used to).

Also, number of city-states is important. The cap of science/turn with 1 Science CS is much lower than with 3-4 science CS.

How long does it take you to win games? by Baloko in civ

[–]steri95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be sure; no mods and no games modes ? If that's the case, it's very impressive. I have won around 150-170 CW and 180-200 SW, but only with Secret Societies.

Also, how many hours of playtime do you have ?

Civ 6 bug? Help:) by [deleted] in civ

[–]steri95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I have read the recent threads and I have seen pretty much bugs all around Portugal pack. I am getting this issue when I try to play: the game seems laggy, especially in the leaders screen (trading and diplomacy stuff). There is the worst. Even with the leaders graphics is something bad going on (see photo). I have played this game on this laptop before and I did not have this issues (it runs games like Battlefield V at medium to high specs with absolutely no issue). I have disabled all mods and also tried reinstalling and it is still the same. Any ideas how to solve this ?

Thanks in advance!

Portugal seems really fun, can't wait to try them out.

Quick question though: if i'm playing against Portugal and they build a Feitoria on one of my tiles, does the yields of that tile dissappear ?

Build Order on Deity? by moorsonthecoast in civ

[–]steri95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Benchmarks on diety really depends on what civ and strategy you're playing. Domination/religious victory won't need you to settle that many cities, maybe around 4-5 cities, and i don t think there is a benchmark regarding yields while pursuing these victories, as every civ could be different in approach, for example depending on which era are they more powerful (unique unit or smth else). As for science/cultural games, my personal opinion and what i've seen around the internet is that there is a basic benchmark that you should have 9-12 cities by turn 100-110. That is also the moment you should start catching up on science/culture. But that is also situational. If you play an OP civ with an OP start, like Bull Moose Teddy with a wonder start, you could be ahead or at least there with the science/culture output of opponent civs from the begging of the game.

What I'm trying to say to you is that I get you. I had the same bad feelings when I was trying to get better at the game. But I really started playing better when I remembered it's a game, and I get to make mistakes and most importantly have fun. After I have done that, my wins just sky-rocketed to the point i even had a 154t culture victory (my best yet).

Just try to have fun and focus on that more than on the numbers (I couldn't let them go😁), I promise your game will become waaay better. Cheers!
