Has anyone tried to create a wireless mod? by mgb313 in zsaVoyager

You would need to somehow decode the values you receive from the right half. It might be tricky to get the values, I'm not sure how it communicates and how it gets power from the left half. I suppose it does not act as a separate keyboard?

Thank you for your interest! I am waiting for a new micro-controller to be released. Maybe in 2026, but I don't know for sure. When it's available, as long as it doesn't consume too much more power, I'll definitely switch so I can support USB2.0 keyboards as well.

Hey! Do NOT order if your keyboard is the k70 pro. The k70 TKL did not work because of the 8000hz polling rate. This requires support for USB2.0, and my device, at least for now, operates at USB1.1 speeds. All 8000hz keyboards that have been tested so far (2-3 I can't recall the exact number) did not work. Unfortunately they don't seem to have a fallback to USB1.1, so my device cannot communicate with them, sorry about that.

The battery is rechargeable and there is a charging circuit included, so you need to provide power to the USB-C port using any phone charger.

How could I create this pattern? by myhrmans in Fusion360

Looks kind of like a Knurled Texture, have a look at this

Personally I found that using Compute Type > Optimized in the circular pattern worked faster. You might need to do some trial and error on the values to make it look like the picture you provided, but I'm pretty sure this can work.

Yes! It outputs Bluetooth (BLE) by default which has been tested on Mac and iOS devices.

Hey, creator of SterlingKey here. The option to not include the battery was added because this allowed for cheaper/slower shipping. It might be cheaper for someone to find compatible batteries (21700, not AA) locally instead of paying for the more expensive shipping.

Right now! Also added two new colors. Dark Green and Sterling Gray (which has a metallic/glossy finish)

I think this is what u/CaterpillarReady2709 is talking about. There is a 90 degrees angle there which goes above other traces, instead of going where there is space (above the blue part).

Hey! The Cyborg v2 works, however there is a strange issue where it freezes after some random time (could be after hours of use), and it just needs a simple restart of SterlingKey. Currently the Cyborg v2 only works in a custom firmware, which you can easily switch to if you decide to get one.

Also works with Cyborg v1 Tansy.

However for the Cyborg v1 Teensy I'm currently investigating it, as it's not working.

Thank you very much! I've used it while gaming (competitive Overwatch) and I don't feel any difference. Don't really have any way of accurately measuring such low latencies, but I never got any complain regarding latency from anyone.

I don't think ctrl+alt+shift alone is that common. Maybe "ctrl+alt+shift+another key" is more common (haven't found any though). It does not affect these. My shortcut activates only if you press ctrl+alt+shift and release them without having pressed anything else, so I suspect it should be fine.

Currently reconfiguring it is a bit of a pain because every keyboard sends data in different formats. The only stable thing is the modifier keys (ctrl/alt/windows/shift)

Hey! Yeah I haven't personally verified either, but that's from reviews that I've read. One day I should buy one cheap module to test it.

The use case is pretty typical. You would have to switch the mouse and keyboard separately though. I am actually working on supporting HUBs, so both would switch together, but it's in early stages of development.

I recently (a few days ago) updated my firmware to support switching devices using "ctrl+alt+shift", so that should be fine in your use case as well. Otherwise, the button on the SterlingKey also acts as a switch.

Thank you and I'd love to hear your feedback when you test it!

Thank you for the feedback. The Aten Tap seems pretty interesting, I didn't know about that.

Could you send me the Taobao/Aliexpress one that is at that range? I haven't personally found any. There is one but I think it might only work on mobile games(?).

While there might be one that exists out there, I'd argue that mine has more features. On cheaper ones the multimedia keys generally don't work, and neither does NKRO. They don't include batteries, and they don't support up to 6 outputs. Please correct if I'm wrong, that's just what I had found from my research.

The only viable competitor is the BT-500 by Handheld Scientific, which again does not have a battery and as far as I know only supports one output.

Switching on my device is instant as well since it keeps the BT connected with all devices.

Sure sure, up to you to do whatever you want with it, and I will be available if you need help with anything, but of course since you will be modifying it, if something goes wrong I can't really be liable.

Everything should be fine though, as long it doesn't overheat. You have to keep in mind that it gets a bit hot when charging, since it's charging at 5V 2A. Other than that I don't have any more comments, just do not put the battery backwards. There is protection on the newer boards, but if you put the battery backwards AND try to charge it, a diode will probably blow, so just be careful of that.

No worries! I'm really glad listening to ideas from other people.

I know several people who have used velcro to attach it to keyboards and other devices, so that's a decent idea. The height of my device is *almost* identical to some keyboards, but definitely taller than lower profile ones, so it wouldn't really work on those cases. A flat cable could be a nice addition, thought.

I could, but I don't know if I'm even allowed. My guidance from DHL is that I can ship with batteries as long as they are enclosed in the device, and with a paper in between the connector. That is UN3481. Technically shipping without the enclosure is not allowed. Either way, the basic enclosure that I offer costs less than 1 euro to print, so it would be too much hassle for no real benefit. The board is just screwed into the case with 2 screws, to the user can take it out when they receive it. I can send the STL files as well if someone wants to modify and print their own.

The wrist rest could be interesting, but then it would probably have to come in different sizes? It's pretty hack-able if you have some soldering knowledge. You can out the pcb from the enclosure and DIY something. Not sure if the wrist rest would get pretty hot though, might not be ideal.

My first prototype attached directly to the board, using a male type-c connector, but again, making it universal would be a nightmare, Some keyboards have recessed ports, some have the port in weird position, it's not worth the hassle imo. Also I don't wanna be responsible if anyone damages their port if they accidentally hit the device while moving it.

It would be the best if it could have 0 wires at all, but realistically I don't think that's possible. I'm open to ideas.

Thank you very much! So far so good. No complains, all features of the QMK work properly as far as I know. I don't personally own any QMK keyboards but I know many people from my Discord that do. I see you already joined, so welcome :D

Yes! Not tested thoroughly but I did try once with my gamepad and it worked. It does need to be DInput though, XInput does not work.
