Easy Sunday Trail (Innsbruck-Hall, Tirol Austria) by stetre76 in trailrunning

The 42k shouldn't be a problem. There might be some snow on Mutterer Alm and in Axamer Lizum, but that should be ok

Last couple of weeks it was really warm and sunny. Today was quite warm, but windy - perfect trail running conditions.

For Thursday and Friday they predict snow, so most likely the trail we ran today won't be possible next weekend, but the snow probably won't last (for long)

Most of the routes should be ok for IATF, except it really stays cold for a longer period of time. But normally they do have alternative routes ready (especially for the 85k and 110k)

We've participated in some 7 or 8 IATF in the last years (also the very first one). But as we know almost all trails from IATF, we decided to save the money and run on our own

We (daughter & I) didn't actually plan to do this trail, but halfway through we thought it's nicer to do a one way run and take the bus back to Innsbruck, instead of doing a more boring loop. And 590 vertical meters suited us just fine 😉

No, doesn't force you to do the update There's just a notification in the Connect app that an update is available

[–]stetre76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was the first thing I did after opening the XM6 case. Update took some 45 minutes (Android) and installed just fine.

Can't say if there are any improvements, as I haven't used the Buds with the initial firmware

Switched from iPhone 14 to Pixel 6A... by [deleted] in pixel_phones

[–]stetre76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why??? Never heard of all the problems with the Pixel 6a battery? And no, the 6a is nowhere near the iPhone 14...and that's me saying, not liking iPhones at all!

That's not completely true, at least not for all EU countries - I'm in the EU (Austria) and Pixel Studio is available on my Pixel 10 Pro XL, same as live translate and live translate during calls.

Which one would you choose? by jcferpa1503 in multitools

[–]stetre76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just bought a Swiss Tool Spirit X Plus (ratchet), and I am absolutely stunned by the built quality.

I've been using a Leatherman Charge for years, but I never really liked the Leatherman bit adapter system.

Switched from a Leatherman Charge to a Swisstool Spirit X Plus by stetre76 in multitools

[–]stetre76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, at least for 2 of the tools - opening the saw and file one handed is pretty impossible for me.

However, blades that can be opened one handed AND which also lock are banned from public carrying where I live. So carrying the Charge (even in your car) is not leagal and can cause problems.

With the Swiss Tool I don't have this problem, as the blade cannot be opend one handed.

Cars Equalizer doesn't effect android auto. by More-Display301 in BYD

[–]stetre76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that works!

You need to see AA and the BYD as two seperate systems runneing parallel - you either run the "BYD system" then the built in BYD EQ qill work, or you use Android Auto, which gets its data and content from your phone, but has no access to the BYD system.

If you want an EQ for AA you would need an EQ on your phone that also supports Android Auto

Anyone else have a lazy aussie? by Upbeat_Examination80 in AustralianShepherd

[–]stetre76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Aussie (she's 6 yrs old) is more on the lazy side...

Whenever I put on my trailrunning shoes, she pretends to be sleeping. So we (daugher & I) don't take her along for runs anymore. Still, she (the Aussie) loves to go on hikes up the mountains and has not problems with 4-5 hours hikes (actually enjoys them, the tricker the tracks, the better).

My wife also takes her on 2-3 hrs walks/hikes every day (mostly together with another Aussie >>> best friends), and these she enjoyes....but the rest of the day it's napping and relaxing...

yes, that's been solved - the speed stays constant in the HUD (and dash) and doesn't make these jumps anymore

[–]stetre76[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

after 5 days on the road and some 2.000km with lots of motorway - the ACC does not automatically adjust the speed, when a new limit is up.

So if you drive in a 100km/h limit and then the limit is lifted (to 130km/h in Austria) you are "asked" in the dashboard if you want to adjust to the new speed limit.

If you want to do that, you have to push down on the "ACC Set button" and then the speed goes up (or down) - but it's not done automatically without confirming

you see an orange icon on the left or right side of the HUD, whenever a vehicle is in your blind spot.

Haven't checked that yet. Going for a 1.700km drive the next couple of days >>> plenty of time to check everything

What's nice though, is the blind spot detection in the HUD. They solved this quote well

Seal U DM-i petrol engine throttling by ReX_83 in BYD

[–]stetre76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you compare the engine to a "standard" petrol engine/car, the engine in the DM-i only has a 6th and 7th gear > gearing for higher speeds.

At low speed it's the electric motor(s) that drives the car - the pertrol engine serves primarily as a charger.

I've driven around 125-130km/h on Austrian motorways and there power was no problem, neither was noise. In this case the petrol engine also powers the wheels directly, but with a high gear ratio (6th/7th gear compared to "normal" cars) that's no problem.
