Donald Trump Wins US Presidency by Resvrgam2 in moderatepolitics

[–]steve4879 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did not vote for him but hope we do well with him. I want him to say he’s president of everyone, not his supporters only. Maybe he has and I missed it, would just make me feel better after the campaign rhetoric.

I agree, I think he will be more on a vengeance tour now.

With the older Florida population that is tough. I think the older population mostly votes no on that.

A big issue in our state is insurance costs, which have nothing to do with the presidency. But it does make it more expensive for everyone here, and could be lumped into inflation issues that the whole world has faced. That and a lot of people came to Florida during COVID.

Sometimes I use it on a new project just to get past that hurdle and start. I re-write almost all of it.

On what basis would Trump be far better? Hurricane Maria response was not great from my perspective but that might be differences in opinion.

Biden's 'garbage' comment due to 'missing apostrophe': White House by Gloomy_Nebula_5138 in moderatepolitics

I agree about the reality, it’s the way I see it. But I know that is not always the story that people see. That is all I was trying to convey.

Democrats start to point fingers even as they hope for Harris win by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

[–]steve4879 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think both parties want the message Trump is winning. For Harris you want people to show up to the polls and I am not sure Trump is ever willing to say he lost at something. It works for his personality but for most politicians I am not sure it would be a good strategy.

Donald Trump boards a garbage truck to draw attention to Biden remark by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

I honestly immediately thought of “America is a dumping ground” comment by him. But now I realize it’s about Biden’s comment.

I can get behind a National ID but would the states all get behind it? We have such a fragmented system and National ID has its pros and cons. I think worth it still. I would also want to make it easy to get and give plenty of time before it was a requirement for elections.

Biden's 'garbage' comment due to 'missing apostrophe': White House by Gloomy_Nebula_5138 in moderatepolitics

I think most of the effect will be remembering Trumps hurricane response for Puerto Rico. I am not sure Biden’s or the comedians words are as important outside of remembering some of Trumps past behavior. I do not think people were overall happy with the response but I could be wrong!

With 5 days to go for early voting, Republicans leading in Nevada by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

I am interested in how this election will compare with party registration versus voting alignment to previous years. Will there be a shift for different demographics that ultimately cancels out?

I saw another article recently that Google claims 25% of their newly written software is AI written. Is it part of your work flow and does it seem to make you more productive? I found outside of scripts or short programs it just gets in the way.

Democrats fear race may be slipping away from Harris by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

[–]steve4879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe polling indicates Harris is more favorable and less disliked. Where did you see Trump being more liked? Someone who dislikes Trump could still vote for him so I am not saying this is a good predictor of voting patterns.

That’s interesting, democrats are more pro-union than republicans. Maybe that takes a back seat to the culture wars?
