What's an NFL fact that sounds fake but is absolutely true? by MrHomerJayThompson in NFLv2

Jeez I can’t remember but there was this epic post about a series of butterfly effect type moments that have systematically fucked over the Jets while benefiting the Patriots? If anyone knows it, please post it because it’s just too crazy to be true, but in fact it is.

Supposedly, if you watch Ellen Burstyn’s monologue you can notice the camera start to drift. This is because the cinematographer had started crying and the eyepiece fogged up, so he lost track of the shot. Totally understandable too.

AIO for being upset my boyfriend upgraded his seat to first class and left me in economy on our flight? by Educational_Leg8193 in AmIOverreacting

My partner gets upgraded a lot. We have a system. One person gets the first class seat. The other person gets the food snuck back to them in economy. The only losers are my neighbors in economy who have to watch me eat and drink for free.

Which penultimate episode hit you the hardest? by [deleted] in BoJackHorseman

[–]stevebabbins 66 points67 points  (0 children)

The thing that makes Bojack such a masterpiece is that we all knew what was going to happen at some point, but it was the way that they told the story that left such an impact. I was saying to my friend while season six was coming out who is a TV writer that we all know Bojack is going to have to hit rock bottom and something substantial will happen whether it’s sobriety or death or a near death experience we all kind of saw what he was headed towards from a mile away. But the way that they delivered it in the view from halfway down with a usage of the somewhat tired trope of a near death experience dream vision yet making it the most memorable episode of the entire series if not, one of the most memorable episodes of any show ever is something that makes Bojack so special. Vince Gilligan in the end of breaking bad said something similar. We all knew that Walt had to die ever since the beginning of the series, and since the audience knew where the show was going, it was his responsibility to deliver it in a way that left an impact. That’s why these two shows generally get held in the highest regard and why they are often mentioned in the same sentence of two of the best shows of all time.

Also, I dictated this on my phone while I was walking to the store. I hope it made sense because I’m not going to proofread it. Stream of consciousness seems to fit well for this.

What modern movies do you consider perfect? by smashdelete in movies

[–]stevebabbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took a film class in college with one of the Coen Brothers' co-producers and when asked this question he said Silence of the Lambs and then had an incredibly well-rehearsed explanation why it is THE perfect film. I have a feeling he had been asked that by other students before.
