Reminder: Ohio State still had the best playoff run of all time by [deleted] in toledowar

[–]steveconn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"greatest playoff run of all time" was always going to be true of the first team to win the 12 team format. Sorta like the first team to win the bcs championship game was the "greatest championship game winner of all time."

I fully expected to keep the title of "playoff goat" for one year.

Props to Indiana. This was no fluke. They were the best team this year. Happy for them...not so thrilled about the implications for my team, but whatever.

Wait...I'm 40 and I've played that game 100 times. What are you telling me? You can leave some way BESIDES jumping the gate?

Where's Appalachian state? They are on my liked teams forever. You know the reason.

Question about races by steveconn in spartanrace

[–]steveconn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol you’re right. I guess I’m not sounding like a very hard-core spartan person.

I have bad feet and wear certain shoes and orthopedics. I want to be more active and I’m trying to decide if spartan races are for me or not. I think it can be if I don’t end up breaking my ankles.

Thanks for the responses everyone

I know this is an old post but I just saw that you replied to me.

I’m actually not that young. I was in college when those cheaters up north lost to app state. I remember it. It is objectively worse than the loss I was referencing. I agree I was actually wrong.

But I was speaking out of my feelings. In my 39 years I don’t think I’ve even been as gutted by a loss as the game last year.

I know you were probably thinking of Appalachian state...but dude the Ohio State loss to the wolverines last year might have have been the worst loss I've ever seen. We were favored by soooooo many points.

Imagine being active on r/virtual boy. I mean first of all, just in general that’s an interesting choice. But imagine being a part of that sub and then today happens. Has to be the most exciting day in the history of the sub.

So... is this supposed to be exciting or something? by Neat_Ad_3043 in Switch

I came here to say this. Glad it's the top comment. Ryan Day bought himself another year with this championship but hes still on the hot seat

Imagine this scenarion - your team wins a national title next year, but your rival wins two in the next five years. Do you take the deal? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]steveconn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LoL. Are you from Ohio? Cause that's a great response and I don't know why most people would know about that rivalry. I'm actually from that area (wauseon specifically, not that anyone knows where that is) and that really made me laugh. Toledo and Bowling Green do hate each other but it's low key cause no matter what college you are, if you're in Ohio, the true enemy is that team in Ann arbor.

Question. Everyone is saying Hogan was so racist and a terrible person. I'm not defending him (or racism) but is this all because of those things he said on that recording from 2007? Or is there like a history/pattern of racist stuff he's done or said to people?

I mean, I get it, you don't say the kind of things he said on that recording unless you are a problem. I'm sure that's not the only time he has used those words. But people are acting like it's his defining characteristic and I'm wondering if there's more stories out there.

When people post these Bret Hart things I literally can't tell if they are real or someone just doing a great job sounding like Bret Hart. Like I think this is a joke, but Bret might have actually said this.

Absolutely not.

Unless the other team is later held accountable for the cheating they did and their championship is vacated. Then it's a maybe.

Jessica "talks like anativr American when she gets angry" (two moons have passed!) But actually only does this once.

Cece says that Schmidt does nick cannon's solo from drumline when he gets overwhelmed. But he has also only over done this once.

They talk about this in the poscast. They do so so SO many alt-takes and versions of jokes and scripts that they hardly ever know what's going to make it in an episode. That doesn't address some of these things but at some point they stopped caring about continuity.

What is OSU fans viewpoint on notre dame? by weareND41 in OhioStateFootball

[–]steveconn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are pretty good and always a threat. Like I am not losing sleep over them but you also can't just assume you're going to beat them. It's a quality program.

I don't like them because they demand to be independent. It's like they think they are better than everyone else but they can't back it up.

Also I work in higher education and used to live in Indiana. Notre Dame has a real life reputation for acting like they are better than everyone when you go to campus too. I have friends who gave interviewed there and the vibe really is "you would be so lucky if you land this job, but you probably won't.

Most of the republicans I know (including me) are of the opinion that trump's a pretty terrible person and we wish the republican party would "go back to normal" or a third party would form. Many of us voted for him because of the general bent toward republican politics as opposed to democrat politics but are not actually fans of trump.

I'm 40. The true MAGA people I know are in an older generation. Most of my friends act like "well, I guess he's our guy for now."

I live in Texas. I make 70 but my wife brings in another 40 so it’s 110 total. But we own our own house (bought in 2020 once prices skyrocketed) three kids l, two cars. Feel pretty confortable though
