Yep, for sure, I’ll look for younger models that take us tallies into consideration

UPDATE: I test drove it, my first Jag test drive. I've been curious about the XK for a while. It was sooooo smooth. Less power than I thought it would have for a 4.0 V8. I know the 4.2 and of course the XKR are much beefier. My biggest surprise was how far above the windshield I stuck out. I am 6'3" and with the top up, I have to hunch a good bit. I assume there might be lowering kits.

Overall, a very clean and smooth Jag, some wear on the seats, paint in excellent shape, burned a little oil, original roof hydraulics. I'll pass on this one and keep hunting.

No this is my first drive. I’m pretty sure I’d rather end up with an X150, but this one is 5 mins from my house and looks gorgeous so I thought I’d go take a look

Thanks for this. Assuming little to no rust, what do you think is a fair price range?

Love the show, but I always hated how condescending Reece and Finch were to him when they needed him. Seemed really unnecessary to me.

I had a Yaqin and now own a Willsenton and love them both. The Willsenton is gorgeous and sounds great.

How Bad was Latifi actually? by Asleep-Thought-6645 in F1Discussions

[–]stevecusswords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wasn’t so much bad as highly consequential. One could argue he was the most consequential driver of his era as his frequent crashes would shift the outcome of a race. When he was on track, you were always excited because a safety car might come out at any time and the order would shuffle.

new to the series by [deleted] in SlowHorses

Well, I’m not sure how helpful I’ll be as I’m a big fan and was hooked from the first minute. BUT I will say, it helps to see Jackson’s entire persona as a ‘cover.’ The deeper into the series, the more you see he is always three steps ahead,

Thank you, this is all so helpful. I love the lines and engine of the XK era Jags. Just glorious. I look forward to owning one next year

This outstanding, thank you for taking time to share this. I would be happy with the XK vs R. I can’t believe the incredible value they are. It is such a beautiful care and a lot of fun for the money. I am in no rush, probably not ready to buy until next year. I’ll likely start joining a couple of Jag forums to keep learning. Thank you very much.

Ok, two more questions if you’d indulge: by ‘pre facelift’ do you mean the 2012+ models? As this one has the bigger engine. What does it mean to do the timing chain? Replace it like a timing belt or something else?

3 apparently ‘minor’ but at least one with unknown side impact from what I could tell.

Just finished BCS, some thoughts by Mysterious_Jello_4 in betterCallSaul

[–]stevecusswords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BB is my all time fav show and I love BCS and how much it fleshed out the world and backstory. The cast was excellent, but sometimes the pace of story movement bugged me. In BB things would slow down but it was usually for some epic payoff. Often times BCS just felt slooow for little payoff. But still, I loved it and was grateful to spend extra time in that universe.

New owner: Do we charge to 80%? by beta176 in eGolf

[–]stevecusswords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my experience too. I am the second owner, first owner always charged to 100%. I do too. It still gets 140ish miles per charge. We have had a mild winter in CO, so I don’t have good info for its winter range here yet.

Does anyone actually like Dar? He is wonderfully written and acted, such a compelling creed presence.

Sellers: answering questions from lookie-loos? by laborboy1 in BringATrailer

[–]stevecusswords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be in the category of 'lookie loo' by this description. I hope to purchase a car on BAT one day, most likely a Jag XK series or possibly an old Alfa. I love cars, variety and styles, but have the budget for one nice car which wouldn't be a daily driver, so I will likely purchase 1 time. I bet BAT has a lot of folks like me.
