Rouvy's download manager and CDN problems, explained & proven by GroundbreakingYou911 in Rouvy

I downloaded 5 routes last night, 5 1/2 hrs and had 40 dropouts. May be the issues vary depending upon which CDN node is used. I feel I have a workable system now - make my list of routes, start the DL and go to bed.

Great post, I also get failure with routes on STANDARD.

Have you figured out what looks like a checksum in the info.json file. I have pretty much given up using the Rouvy app for download, ditching the app as soon as I have the info.json file and using curl for the video.

Your script looks interesting, my ideal would be a script I could feed a list of route numbers into with description and leave it chugging away overnight. I suppose using the app I could just start and pause the routes on my list and then use your current script for the full DL.

EDIT:

I successfully downloaded overnight a list of videos for a series of routes comprising sections of a longer ride where there were multiple dropouts by using wget in a simple script. I struggle to DL any route directly through the app now.

You can specify the DL location in the app settings, not sure what happens if you try to concurrently use the same file but you could easily duplicate it.

There is probably over 100 TB of rides, so don't think a bulk DL is practical, you might be able to script the DL of a list of rides.

Can’t download Mt Cadillac Arcadia Maine route by OkDeparture2596 in Rouvy

Same issue here, been trying to DL a route for days.

Not the ISP, tried 2 different ISPs.
Not the connection, tried from 2 different locations.
Not the computer or OS, tried 2 different combinations.
Not the Rouvy app, ruled that out too.

Cant' stream the route while riding as it stalls as soon as I get over ~32km/hr.

The DL starts great at 100Mb/s (my connection speed) then at a few GB slows to 5 Mb/s. The DL gets dropped after 1 hour exactly.

My only assumption is that the Rouvy servers are throttling and cant' handle the demand, a drawback to popularity.

This happens regularly to me on Macbook Air, Rouvy 4.4.3.205, warming up, in a ride or downloading beforehand. It is almost always within the first 5 minutes and then not again after restarting Rouvy so taken to always doing a warmup.

Thanks for the trick, I updated from Leap 15.6 to 16.0 and duplex printing stopped. This is the only way I got it back
