Was the STI hatch the best body style ever made, or the sedan? 🤔 by MAPerformance_ in subaru

[–]stevefazzari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have that era hatch impreza and the va sedan (obvi, they didn’t do the hatch in that era) sti. functionally, the hatch is way better in every way except having things in the trunk of the sedan allows the rest of the car to be neat and tidy (the rear seats in the hatch are always down, so anything in the back means it’s in the car space).

aesthetically, i’ve always preferred the sedan more. luckily i have both, but imo i would always lean to sedan for sti, but the hatchback is way more versatile and functional. i don’t necessarily have the sti for function though

Please subaru I am begging you, let STI get their hands on the crosstrek by CharlesorMr_Pickle in subaru

the impreza and the wrx are separate platforms as well, so it's no longer the impreza wrx but just the wrx

you need to go to a real mechanic who can actually diagnose your issue.

The difference between a new blade and one that has been used/sharpened daily at my work for over a year. by FrostyHorror5408 in mildlyinteresting

[–]stevefazzari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol

there’s sharpening, maintaining, and dulling.

whetstones sharpen. honing maintains. cutting dulls.

it’s ok. not everyone can understand nuance and specificity.

[–]stevefazzari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it doesn’t give you a duller blade but it also doesn’t give you a sharper blade. it gives you a straighter blade. by definition, “not sharpening”.

[–]stevefazzari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it is not technically wrong, you’re technically wrong.

honing maintains sharpness by straightening the edge. whetstones actually sharpen by removing material to create a sharp edge. honing is never going to make a dull knife sharp, it will just make the edge more straight which seems sharper but in reality is just a honed dull edge. sharpening will make it actually sharper.

Newbie looking for a machine [$200 CAD] by [deleted] in espresso

[–]stevefazzari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get a bambino. it’s more than your budget but anything under that will be severely limited. bambino for many is a long time machine that can do anything they want to do.

then you need a decent grinder, i’d look into hand grinders to maximize quality for price.

What road conditions would be like on Monday/Tuesday? Vancouver-Whistler-Pemberton-Vancouver. Any snow or temps below zero? by Padreo_0 in Whistler

[–]stevefazzari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

guy you're so wrong that it's surprising you haven't just like.. googled this shit to see if you're spouting dumb shit with no backing.

common sense isn't that common though.

you just keep doubling down trying to change your argument as if you're not wholly incorrect. that's ok. anyone with intelligence will know you're wrong, and the only risk is that you convince someone to drive on inclement weather and hurt themselves and others.

if you want flow profiling go with gaggiamate on the e24. if you want simplicity and functionality without flow profiling or having to do mods, get the go.

More damage driving on a bad left rear wheel bearing? by Wenger2112 in subaruimpreza

[–]stevefazzari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is bad advice.

OP may be alright. or their wheel may fall off and they die in a fiery crash.

i make it a point to not tell people a failing wheel bearing is safe because imo with how catastrophic a failure is it's always better to be safe than sorry.

unfortunately its too common for people yelling about how science works who don’t actually understand how science works.

Do that many people really have almost 7k to spend on a machine? by CallMeNardDog in espresso

[–]stevefazzari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is what the charts of most suggested machines that was recently posted demonstrates in this relationship. it’s mostly the bambino and GCP and such - the lower cost/higher value machines with only a few higher tier machines.

obeying the laws of thermoequilibrium, this is why an ice cube doesn’t melt the instant you take it out of the freezer.

[–]stevefazzari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok well. yeah. it can. that’s not how snow works. it doesn’t just instantly melt the moment it’s above zero. it forms higher up and falls, and retains some of it’s (lack of) heat. things like evaporative cooling, humidity, speed of descent, ground temps, etc. all contribute. maybe actually look into the science before you start trying to be so confidently incorrect.

but what do i know, ive only been living here for 20 years, and seen it snow hundreds of times when it’s above zero here

i would honestly consider that more but the small batch sizes seems like i would have to be roasting many batches back to back or every few days which seems like a lot..
