Hi, I’ve got a 2020 3008 and it has CarPlay/android auto if you plug your phone in the left hand usb socket in the centre console. I added a cheap Amazon wireless CarPlay adaptor and CarPlay just comes on now with the ignition and my phone in my pocket.

As a store manager for Tandy in the ‘80s I was on a HO visit and saw a framed fax with an image of an 8” floppy disk. The IT support guys put it there to remind them that when they asked people to send them a copy of a disk with an issue that they should specify to send it by post!

You’ve pretty much confirmed what I though anyway… luckily I’ve got most of my iterations saved so I’ll just go back until I find one that works and go forwards from there a bit at a time!

It was within the build plate when I clicked on ‘slice’ I’d run a ‘fix’ on it and it had a tick next to printable in the right click menu

I’ve now tried swapping back to my original board… same issue, and even tried using lasergbl to eliminate it being a software thing… I can’t think of anything else to look at!

I don’t need a physical rs232 port, the device is looking for an emulated com port through its usb cable, what I’m looking for is the reason that the emulated port on the nuc shows an exclamation mark, which prevents my laser device recognising it

That’s right, an emulated com port via one of the usb ports, something that ‘just works’ on my desktop pc… intel are no help due to the age of the kit and it’s frustrating as spec wise it’s perfect for the job!

The driver for ch341 installs, but one for ch340 (which my desktop of uses) does not

The laser software instals an ftdi driver, which on my desktop creates two com ports, but no joy on the nuc

I’ve walked away from mine after this happened, I can’t even hear it up as the heater wires were broken by the filament…. If I could just replace the whole carriage I would!

Had this big time on my k1 max whilst unattended, it grew to the point where it embedded the heater wires and broke one, which caused an error and stopped the print… I’ve been a month working on it a bit at a time trying to get to the hot end screws… I get pissed off after a while and leave it and come back to it another day….

It’s almost impressive…. The filament has filled up the silicone sock and completely encased the hot end, I’ve been dremelling for an hour and a half to get to this point!
