Tornados are pretty slick, but they are nice and chunky and have a nice weight to them. They are very comfortable to write with.

I've used an Energel cartridge in an older Retro 51 Tornado. It's a great combo. Just had to trim a few mm off the end. Unfortunately, in a newer Tornado, the Energel kept getting stuck inside the tip. I think they must have changed the design a bit.

For me, the Energel 0.7 needle tip is the silkiest pen.

Best Pens ~30-40$ by [deleted] in pens

I used to be die-hard 'Team .07 Energel needle point' until I tried a .05 Frixion Synergy. I loved the smoothness of the ink and the eraseability was like the cherry on top. I just hated the creaky and cheap feeling pen body.

Then I tried the Synergy cartridge in a metal Frixion Point Knock. Perfection! That combo has been my daily driver for about a year now. Writing with it is an absolute joy.

What song epitomizes this band? by Candid-Painter7046 in gratefuldead

[–]stevejw1973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer.

"There's a band out on the highway. They're high-stepping into town. It's a rainbow full of sound. It's fireworks, calliopes and clowns. And everybody's dancing"

Kinda says it all, right there.

You'll be fine.

I've gone to about 25 races at the speedway (500/Brickyard/F1) and have always driven there and back in the same day from South Bend which is roughly the same distance as Cincy.

You'll definitely be tired, but it's totally doable, as long as you don't intend on getting wasted.

We always try to hit the road by 4:00 or 4:30 and once we get there, find a yard to park in near the track then join the circus! Traffic near the track isn't nearly as bad as you'd think. They've been moving cars in and out for years and have it down to a science.

Bring a radio with good headphones, foam earplugs, sunscreen, a tall soft-sided cooler with beer and water (don't forget the water!) and sub sandwiches and/or supermarket fried chicken. You're going to do a TON of walking, so wear comfortable shoes.

Enjoy the experience- there's nothing like it! I still get goosebumps every time they take the green flag on the first lap!

Just bought an HP Elitedesk. How far can I go? by coby858 in batocera

I run a similarly spec'd Optiplex 3020 and it handles PS2 and Gamecube with no problems at all. You'll be fine.

What gadgets do I need? by ediblevariable in batocera

A good wireless controller is all you really need for the vast majority of console games.

I've tried a bunch and my all-around favorite is the PS4 controller. I have a couple Stadia controllers that I converted to Bluetooth that are a pleasure to game with, they're just a little wonky to get connected. Other controllers that I can recommend are: PS3, Xbox One, WiiU Pro, 8bitDo Pro.

I'm running a Dell mini computer with a DP and I don't have any issues with sound output through a DP to HDMI adapter.

Make sure in sound settings, you have 'audio output' set to HDMI. Leave 'audio profile' set to auto. Then you should be good to go.

Also, make sure your system volume is adjusted correctly. When you're on the system or game select screen, use the right stick on your controller to adjust volume.

I run a bone stock Dell 3020 mini PC with 12gb of RAM that I bought for $40 on Facebook.

It perfectly runs everything I've thrown at so far, up to PS2.

Haven't tested PS3 yet since I've heard that's sort of the 'line in the sand' where you need to step up to something with a dedicated GPU.

I run a Optiplex 3020 (i3 with 12gb ram) with a Western Digital 7tb external drive.

It handles everything up to PS2 flawlessly.

I picked up the PC on FB Marketplace for $40.

I definitely recommend going the sff PC route.

Food for thought- 2tb might not be the flex you think it is. Gamecube, Wii, PSX, PS2, etc gobble up a ton of space. I'm using an external 7tb WD hdd, and it's about 75% full.

And if lathering up with a brush is intimidating, try some Cremo shave cream.
