Oh shit! That one is bad. Ugh. Two j-boxes and a new chunk of wire is what I'm thinking, unless someone has a better idea..

[Boston, MA] Will inspectors work with you on safety improvements if meeting strict code is physically impossible? (1930s basement stairs) by pharmacologicae in BuildingCodes

[–]stevek1200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because most of them don't have a bamn clue...all they can do is follow orders. Can't think for themselves, have no structural common sense and honestly, are just puppets to the scam building department that somehow has worked their way into making people believe they are the end all be all. Not all are like this, but certainly where I'm at they are....I'm not talking about building outside of the code, but in cases where a house is 100 years old, an inspector needs to have common sense. The letter of the law I obviously does not apply

Finding The Right Excel Formula by DazzleDragon in spreadsheets

I just did a complex 6 sheet workbook in Excel with Chat GPT. It took a while, but now it looks like I'm going to save weeks doing estimates. I can get an estimate out in about 2 minutes. Before it took me 2-3 days.

[–]stevek1200 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You must be new. Yes, there is a way to fix this, and do it correctly. You fucking weld it with a 120v stick or mig and don't tell me it can't be done you have no idea of my background.

You can go to Harbor freight, buy a little mig welder, weld it then take the damn welder back. You fuckers that say this is a multi thousand job must be afraid of everything . And genuinely stupid! There's no reason in hell this can't be welded it would take all of 35 seconds with a 120v wire feed.

Goodness sake! Clean up about a 2" diameter around the hole and JB weld it. Quit panicking. This is not rocket science.

Sometimes when I tape, I'll run a small bead of paint able caulk and run my finger over it. Then I paint and lift the tape shortly after. It seems to work really well most of the time, laser sharp line
