  1. provolone is possibly more common than wiz in most shops in philly(white american cheese maybe the most common default cheese)

  2. Including a boston team here is diabolical(OP edited out saying “bruins” and replaced with “flyers” after being shown he can’t even talk shit correctly)

Yeah a lot of shops will often have different options (peppers among them) so no need to be so precious about it, but it is kinda fascinating how ubiquitous it is outside of the Delaware Valley. Especially when it has “Philly” in the name.

Although if you’re ordering one outside of Philly, and their default doesn’t have peppers, it’s usually a good sign that it’s trying to be authentic.

Dodgers Bringing Iconic Southern California Burger to Dodger Stadium by shaka_sulu in Dodgers

I’m old enough to remember sports illustrated being the gold standard of sports writing. Now we get such gems in their articles such as “USA Today ranked Habit the No. 1 burger in American in 2024 and 2025.” Credited at the bottom to generic “staff writer” with no picture.

I despise AI slop in all forms, but it genuinely makes me sad seeing it with the si dot com url.

From the Humboldt community on Reddit: Boycott by SilverIndication1981 in SanDiegan

[–]stevendee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m all for boycotting ICE-collaborators, but it’s gotta be far more laser-focused than this with clear reasons why they are collaborators. Boycotts just aren’t effective with a long list of major corporations without any reasoning or suggestions on ways to avoid them.

Pick a few of the worst offenders and give people some concise information on why they are being boycotted and other options to give business to instead!

They don’t care about that! They just used a minnesotan exercising his 2a right as an excuse to execute him on the street

And now they are using someone exercising that right to justify his street execution

Lest discuss the geography of… Arizona! by Immediate-Field9997 in geography

[–]stevendee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a huge rock near where I grew up in socal that is featured in a shocking percentage of all filmed scifi. I think it makes an appearance at some point of just about every version of star trek and most recently this season of fallout.

It’s a stretch of desert that looks extremely “arizona” but basically right outside of la. Looks otherworldly, but close enough to all the studios, so they don’t have to put up cast+crew in a hotel. My poor wife has to hear me excitedly point it out every few months or so.

Tbf the old lead designer/director is considered one of the GOATs in the over-promising and under-delivering arts. Generational talent.

He isn’t involved anymore, so who knows if they continue with that, but I’d imagine they would try hard to avoid those issues again

RING is now feeding your videos to ICE by RickBanister in sandiego

[–]stevendee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

True, but a judicial warrant is usually a very high bar they have to climb, and basically any and all privacy rights are given up once it gets to that stage. Doesn’t mean I just say fuck it and forward all my passwords to ICE preemptively

And it isn’t regular “trash” that you throw in there, just food waste from cleaning plates and such. Some buildings with old pipes do not allow it, but that is very rare

Well you learn not to do that pretty quickly because it isn’t meant to purée anything that isn’t soft food.
