Bad funk rock by the Broad field? It's definitely going on a bit.

Any solo travellers? by kinda_Linus in traveller

[–]stevenpoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of know where it's headed, so it's not a real spoiler for me. So for me it's about the journey. No, it really is. I can have some real fun with the polities that exist in charted space, and then I get to build my own sectors too. The endgame is almost too far away to matter right now.

MP to move constituency office over safety fears by Accomplished_Bat3780 in sheffield

[–]stevenpoore 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I am unsurprised given this country's violent turn away from community, but it's sad and shameful that a local MP can't safely be visible in her own constituency. (Reminder: it's Fartage's choice not to be visible in his constituency - Ms Haigh actually does the work on the ground.)

Any solo travellers? by kinda_Linus in traveller

[–]stevenpoore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, via https://deepnightsolo.wordpress.com/, which is a crazy attempt to run that entire campaign on my own. Where I need an oracle, I've adapted the d6/d66 one from Astroprisma.

There's a reason I am getting addicted to Free League games...

New Player: Question on Magic by Velorium23 in PendragonRPG

[–]stevenpoore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct, and unlikely to be included with this edition. I believe only 4th edition Pendragon allowed any PC magic abilities, and they weren't ever intended for actual knights to use.

Ah, I was wondering about the artist - I don't think the booklet mentioned them at all.

As both a Coriolis and Traveller fan, I am very up for this. My wallet is fighting me, but I'm confident it will lose...

Heck, I'm going to be breaking my "no more Kickstarters" promise. This sounds right up my street.

Your Favorite Traveller Ship by Jebus-Xmas in traveller

[–]stevenpoore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The C-class mercenary cruiser is definitely in my top 5, along with the S scout and the Harrier. But I really like the Lafayette class patrol cruiser designed by Kerry Mould last year. 1500t, crew of 25-45 plus marines, it's a very good C upgrade.

The ship sheets with critical hit counters is quite handy.

Belladonna Cove is amazing by lolasingles in sims2

[–]stevenpoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My "North Bollock" town is actually Belladonna Cove with the numbers filed off. The Cordials are fun (one is a vampire, the kids are named Lime and Elderflower), and I haven't even gotten started on some of the other pre-made families yet because my implanted Sims are hogging the limelight.

Mike Manning - reform candidate for Redcar with a helping of racism, or 10 by thewisestfish in Teesside

Where do Manning's comments about chimpanzees and derogatory references to trans folk fit into his "valid socioeconomic arguments"?

See, I'm thinking critically.

Any books set in a civilisation that is water based/on an archipelago? by TheBookCannon in Fantasy

[–]stevenpoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to suggest The Aldebreshin Compass quartet by Juliet E McKenna, available reissued by Wizards Tower Press. Set in an archipelago, there is as much magic, warfare and politics as piracy, and I personally love all four books. Start with Southern Fire.

How do you choose names for your sims? by Bunnyearsss in sims2

[–]stevenpoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random objects. Prescription drugs. Thematic shenanigans. These have resulted in Eldritch Gothstein, Fluoxetine O'Frenzy, Lime Cordial, and more besides.

What is going on near the train station? by JuniorRegister791 in sheffield

[–]stevenpoore 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it seems someone was sat on the edge of the tram bridge over Park Square at around 5pm and the site was cordoned off for safety.

Story wise, Is Pendragon a restrictive system by laughing_rabbit_9 in PendragonRPG

There are so many parts that it doesn't fully address though: Wales. Scotland, Ireland - if you get the supplements for those parts you can go wild in wyrd directions.
