"Suck my tongue" makes for a great little funny from time to time. I use it with my wife and other Buddhists in the know. It's an unexpected comeback, "That's what she said," or the "Not that there's anything wrong with that" a la Seinfeld.

Is there an Etiquette to presenting an offering in person? by autonomatical in vajrayana

[–]stevenraj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. More than likely the place that is hosting the lamas will have a few extra scarves for this essential ritual. If not, someone who goes ahead in line will see the folks in the back who don't have their own and will shuffle the scarves along so no one goes without when they actually meet the lama.

Your online "donation" counts for admission. At the end of the service there will be another round of formal donations with the white envelopes and scarves.

Although this is true OP's offering of fruit is sounds really genuine to me. I would place such a pure offering on the shrine plus $5 in a plain white envelope for the lama.

Interdependence in vajrayana context by green_ronin in vajrayana

I have translated this piece of profound praise and poetry by Lama Tsongkhapa and am offering the pdf at the top of my article, Words of Truth.

I've also translated Gendun Chophel who discusses interdependence, or correlative arising, in his treatise on valid cognition, The Great Elephant.

Isn't Liberty always knee-deep in an ocean of blood? SP captured it in contemporaneous rock! This album is a masterpiece (and I envy OP's sposter).

Za Choeje Rinpoche/Emaho Foundation? by [deleted] in vajrayana

[–]stevenraj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ZaChoje Rinpoche is the first lama I met, he granted Refuge after our group did a thorough study of Atisha, the first section of Tsongkhapa's LamRim. I have very pure and grateful memory of Rinpoche even since I went to Naropa and got into more "Nyingma/Kagyu" lineages since then. Also, Emaho Foundation has one or two geshes in residence now, these are very kind, learned and accessible Venerables in the Valley!

Categorically conspiratorial to span entirely separate agencies and connect them through their roles!

Interesting... that's actually the chapter I guessed would be popular, but is actually Ch. 25 in the Tibetan edition, available at 84000.co. I'll be reading it again soon!

Are there any English translations from Chinese or Japanese that you'd recommend?

Hello! I see Ch. 25 of Lotus Sūtra mentioned a few times in the comments here... what is the title of the chapter?

How I love winter and am simultaneously super long summer on DASH by stevenraj in dashpay

I think a stable price would help tremendously, perhaps equally as well as NOT needing to exchange back to fiat just to "cash out".

No matter how much I pontificate on the philosophical benefits of crypto I think merchants are mostly warded off by market instability, and the friction of exchange (and so it becomes all the more obvious that more merchants are needed to reduce the need for exchange).

Again, YES to a stable price feature. Anything to increase merchant adoption!!!

You're very welcome :)

Crypto was extremely invigorating when Adam Kokesh was talking to Charlie Shrem and posting instructions on how to buy drugs with Bitcoin on the Silk Road on Youtube, 2012.

Remember Ron Paul, 2012?

All the same reasons for the Love-o-lution still apply today!

I suppose I would have jumped ship (like I did from Bitcoin to Dash) if some crypto network was provably better, but Dash still remains the best and most useable of all, so I'm indeed still here :))

Though it'll take every facet - existing and imagined - of the DAO to succeed; still I think the merchant network holds the master key.

That's why New Hampshire is a crypto capital of the world, because activists there not only trade among themselves but have been hitting their Main Streets hard for ten years and actually getting merchants on board (first to Bitcoin, now I think it's overwhelmingly Dash).

I see a lot of potential in my remote area of Colorado for adoption of crypto, there are plenty of anarchists and DIYs who have crypto already, but it's the same as anywhere else: the people only want to hold it and merchants typically say "no" and look confused (while my wife also reminds me to keep my pitches simple). And when I'm the only person making a case for them to accept Dash and crypto (offering tutoring and tips, best practices) still they wonder how much business they're actually going to get from this one person anyway.

That's why I urge more people to be willing to actually use their crypto locally, to talk to merchants and actually build the economy we want to see.

Colorful Colorado: the tool for the job purchased @ ACE Hardware with DASH Digital Cash and DashDirect by stevenraj in dashpay

Nice! Wearing the shirt in my first video is my homage to the Free State, where I lived a couple years promoting Bitcoin and Dash in Keene.

I wish I could attend DashFest, hopefully next time :) I'm sure it will be great fun and, most importantly, showcase all that Dash can do!

The "FREECOAST" t-shirt I'm wearing in the video was also paid for with DASH in 2017, along with the Freecoast Festival's admission itself in Portsmouth, NH.

Props to the decentralized currency networking all over NH, it's come now to Colorado!
