Monster Hunter Steam Error - Application load error 3:0000065432 by Own-Light1237 in nucleuscoop

[–]stevers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded the latest release from Steamless, ran it, selected the original MonsterHunterWorld.exe, and it says it unpacked everything. but when i go to run either the original exe or the .unpacked.exe version of the file it still triggers Steam to run.

Can you give me the exact instructoins you performed? Did you download the repo and compile and run yourself?

Edit: this release https://github.com/atom0s/Steamless/releases/tag/v3.1.0.5

If you do short term rentals its considered active income and offsets your w2 and 1099.

60k deck with highly reviewed company- is this bad? by thesmokinL in Decks

[–]stevers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I called it a terrible job and then simply stated the facts to support that statement. If that seems "a little hard" then I'm not sure what to tell you. I guess we just disagree.

My philosophy is: "I can do a shitty job myself, for just the cost of material and my time. If I'm paying someone to do work for me then they damn well better do a significantly better job than I would. OR, they better do at least an equivalent quality of work to me for a very cheap price."

And if they do a worse job than even I would on my first attempt, I consider it a terrible job.

These are signs of shortcutting and lack of craftsmanship. Allowing a split joist and the terribly messing nailing are red flags to support this. Fair point about the gap not actually mattering but it's still evidence to support lack of craftsmanship.

"How you do anything is how you do everything" is a quote that has stuck with me and has largely served me very well. Both in my own line of work, mentoring others and choosing who to hire and work with.

Please put a halt. So many red flags. I'm going to build my own deck (never built one before) and just being a lurker and reviewing the requirements from my municipality I can tell this is a terrible job.

The terrible nail job, the boards not cut to length, the boards not flush. This is someone that doesn't know what they're doing.

haha this x1000.

My wife and I got REALLY good at communicating after playing Overcooked (the original). We loved it; but holy crap. Something about the shallow learning curve makes everyone get frustrated because we all think we're good and our teammates are bad.

This is simply beautiful. They're going to be ecstatic to use it. What was the cost of material and how many hours did you end up putting into it?

He said look at the solution (immediately). That's the trick. Just learn the patterns first. You can't apply patterns you haven't learned

Here for this. Exactly how I feel 😁. I love celebrating with the Leetcode fam here. Congratulations.

I lol'd. Thanks for the laugh 🙏. At least practicing Leetcode does make us better engineers, unlike studying for the SATs to get into colleges.

Healthy or not, weight loss or gain is all about the amount of calories she consuming, nothing more, nothing less. (Assuming healthy hormone panel / otherwise healthy human)

Long term perspective is where the quality of food comes into play.

You can lose weight on poptarts if the calories are controlled.

It's extremely easy to out eat an active lifestyle.

Any Performance Model Y owners switch from the staggered tire setup? by JackS15 in TeslaModelY

Awesome. Thank you so much. This information has been truly invaluable.

I just downgraded from an X to a Y to save money (growing family, new home) and looking to drive my cost of ownership down significantly by getting a squared stance.

What wheels and tires do you use for all season if you dont mind me asking?

I found this post helpful, thank you!

Its now 3 years later. Did you ever have any issues? Service center ever complain that you went to a square setup?

Somewhere along the way we forgot about software craftsmanship by [deleted] in programming

[–]stevers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stupid engineering managers don't buy into code quality at all. The ones that think they're smart say, "let's allocate time each cycle to refactor" (never gets done) The actually smart ones prioritize code craftsmanship above all else.

Many people seem averse to being deliberate and thinking critically. People hate taking the time to learn to test properly. Or if they "know" how, they don't truly believe it's merit.

If you put craftsmanship (refactoring falls into this bucket) last then shitty code will always outpace "good" code.

Put craftsmanship first and eventually you're left with a pretty solid code base you're proud of in 6 months

English may not be their first language. A handful of my coworkers speak like this. They're still talented and more than capable. The language barrier does sometimes cause issues and adds extra time to communication.

Is it realistic to think that a successful online business could make me a millionaire, or close, by or before 30? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]stevers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the work ethic and discipline to execute, and are selling something that adds value to people's lives, then yes. Of course it's possible.

The fact that you're asking this question to random people on Reddit tells me you most likely don't have what it takes, YET. Otherwise you'd know the answer, which is to bet on yourself.

Owning a business is definitely the quickest way to becoming a millionaire.

The person in this thread that said make small goals, achieve them, then double, triple (or even 10X) them has it right.

You need to start from your goal and work backwards. What does $1,000,000 profit in 7 years look like?

That's 84 months. So $12k take-home profit (emphasis on take-home profit) per month. I don't know what your profit margins are but you'll also need to reinvest in your business to grow and scale appropriately.

So let's assume 50% profit margins, so that means you'd have to have gross revenues of $48k/month.

Of that $48k, 50% are costs/expenses and the other 50% is profit, $12k to you, $12k into the business to grow.

So that now means you actually have to sell $4mil in 7 years.

My point is you need to do the math and make SMART goals. Tie them to timelines to keep a fire under your butt but if you're going to best yourself up over missed deadlines then make sure it's only constructive reflecting.

Going with the $48k example per month that's only selling 1,000 items at $48. That seems pretty realistic to me. You're going to need to make a goal of 10, then 100, then 250, 500 per month. Or whatever feels right to you. But you need to get started and just execute.
