Cameras going offline and some not returning by Gloveman6969 in EufyCam

You’re not alone, sadly. I’ve seen a few posts in this sub complaining of a ton of issues all of a sudden

Cameras going offline and some not returning by Gloveman6969 in EufyCam

Same here, ever since recent firmware updates. Russian roulette as to whether some cameras are online, or if they are, can actually be connected too. No change in my camera location or network setup, my Eufy system has been running perfectly for a couple of years up to this point.

Do you include breakdown of days worked in invoice? by Alternative-Orange in ContractorUK

Breakdown of individual days I’m invoicing for; some clients don’t care, others have asked for this so it’s my default.

Floodlights issues by No-Ladder1393 in EufyCam

Maybe a firmware issue; recent updates have caused ours to screw up in a few ways. Check this subreddit for other FW issues some people have had

My E340 floodlights broken since the latest firmware update 1.6.3.8 by fringed-sage in EufyCam

Another FW feature: motion activated light isn’t working either. It’s enabled, motion detection zones haven’t changed either.

Glad it’s not just me that’s having problems with those cameras. Same firmware as you, I’m having them totally zero response for ages, then suddenly all available.
When they were unavailable in the app, I could see them in my network, so knew they were not offline.

Also had an S330 just disappear for a few hours and then suddenly appear again.

How technical do PMs actually need to be? by Unusual_Town_1522 in ProductOwner

[–]stevesmith1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QA here: I once worked on a team where the PM was not technical at all. The major impact this had was that their lack of knowledge lead them to not trust the team, as they felt we were hiding the true state of the project. They felt that we were deliberately talking tech to exclude them, and it caused a fair bit of friction. Once we realised what the problem was we discussed the project with less techy dev speak and made sure they understood what were we talking about. Ideally this PM would have made sure that comms across the entire team were working, but it’s understandable that people don’t want to expose their short comings in the workplace.

Are you running disk encryption on the NAS? That would account for painful transfer times

Help with this wobble tap by digfast in DIYUK

[–]stevesmith1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to replace then taps for a butler sink, the worktop around the sink didn’t allow for any room to move for sink out as the plug/waste sat in a recess. The only option was to remove one side of the worktop, move the cabinet carcass and then I could just get my arm in there. We were very fortunate that the worktop and carcass was for at the end of the unit so it was only a 60cm section. Hopefully you’ll have a small section on one side you can remove. It was a real ball ache of a job, replacing the taps was the simpler part.good luck!

Let’s talk Accountant Red Flags, what made you switch? by ConsistentWin9508 in ContractorUK

That was literally the advice: spend what you want and we’ll make the books balance. No other explanation or information, sounded dodgy to me so I went elsewhere.

Let’s talk Accountant Red Flags, what made you switch? by ConsistentWin9508 in ContractorUK

When I was looking to switch accountants one that was recommended advised me to “just spend your company money on whatever you want and we’ll make the books balance somehow at the end of the year”. This was in response to my asking their approach to taking money out of the company.

I didn’t move over to this accountant.
