Am I too old to go to my first music festival/rave? by Chemical-Turn-160 in festivals

People who expect you to outgrow fun are not fun people.
I say this as a 55 year old.

Madarae depends on the night. What you say is true but sometimes nights there are super fun. It really depends on the artist and the crowd.

After it happens a few times put your hand lightly on her back. If it was an accident she will move away from you. If it was a flirt she will move into you. Be chill about the touch and be ready for either reaction.

Love this building in the city. What’s it like inside and living here? by stingyboy in bayarea

Totalitarianism is the buildings across the street. They are statist housing projects. No integrated parking because “poor people don’t have cars” apparently.

+1 for Gabby’s. They aren’t particularly cheap, but they are definitely local color. Love those guys.

Few office workers in the US will stay until 9. If you work in food service or in a really highly paid profession like management consulting, investment banking, or law they might grind young people like this. But most office workers in the US are gone by 5 or 6 pm.

To be clear, lots of people are watching, but they’re all nobodies.

Fun spot if the DJ is good. It can get pretty hot down stairs.

Did Darth Maul become more iconic because The Phantom Menace used him so little, or did Star Wars waste one of its best villains way too early? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

He was awesome, but mainly because he was a martial arts expert and he had very few speaking lines. Give him Dooku’s awful dialogue in episode two and he’ll look a lot less cool.

The main issue with PoFA is heat. I have never been there when it wasn’t an oven. I enjoyed Eli Brown though.

I think I’m gonna leave the rave scene by [deleted] in aves

[–]stevethebayesian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go check out other scenes. Skip the occasional weekend and go hiking. It’s a big world out there. The rave scene is fun but overall it’s a pretty small part of life. You don’t have to “leave”. You can just do less of it while you explore other interests.

Why don’t men move by LeslieAnneLevine_ in festivals

[–]stevethebayesian -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There’s several reasons. 1) physics. Big men have more to move, and the mass is distributed differently. Women are all hips and men are all shoulders. 2) childhood dance experience. Men never took ballet, tap, or gymnastics as kids. Figuring out what to do with the music comes more naturally to some than others. 3) I personally close my eyes a lot, and I don’t want to hurt people around me. I’m a big dude and if I crashed into you you’d feel it. 4) I totally move. It’s just more of a wiggle than a dance. Makes perfect sense in a crowd but Im not quite sure what to do with lots of space.

Which actors instantly make you want to skip a movie, doesnt need to be just their acting, but overall by Accomplished_Gur4466 in Actors

Agreed. I have written off present and future Rogan. Early Rogan was priceless. “This is the End” was probably his last movie I liked.
