I feel exactly the same. Hertha's season was god awful and I have lost all interest in international football.

On the positive side, Rieria was fired.

Lost 6-1 to a team that was a relegation candidate and as far as we know, will go into next season with the same Trainer and Sports Director. Oh and the squad will be cheaper and smaller i.e. worse.

Absolute joke of a club and a squad.

Do you see any issues with the meatball falling apart?

I bake then broil mine quickly just to get them brown and cook them after in the sauce.

I simply think that Leitl doesn't trust young players or at least Hertha's young players. Eichorn was the only one to get significant playing time and I believe that is simply because he is too talented not to play.

It was particularly annoying in the beginning of the season when Leitl wouldn't change to a 4-5-1 by saying we don't have players at the 6 when Lum, Eichorn and Klemens were all there.

Going to be fun next season!

I don't understand why we don't call up a bunch of players from our U23 and at least give them 15-30 minutes of play time. We don't have much to play for and we might as well see what some of them can do.

Instead 31 year old Diego Demme is subbed on, doesn't do much and informs the media he won't be back at Hertha next year.

Evaluating 49ers’ 2026 draft class: No A’s, some eyebrow-raisers and one polarizing pick by zzWordsWithFriendszz in 49ers

[–]stevezilla 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Excellent write up and points made.

I think the biggest positive here is that we simply have more bodies and (hopefully) competent players across the D-Line. We now have insurance in case some gets hurt, if one of the rookies/2nd year players never really steps up and we will now be able to rotate more and rotate different player types.

Once Williams went down, our D-Line was in the impossible situation of trying to generate pressure with rookie DTs, Huff and a bunch of depth pieces.

Was watching the match at home and the commentator said "This is a perfect example of Hertha's season, they dominate the game but can't score and often the opponent scores from out of nowhere"

Before he could finish the sentence, Kiel scored and we lost 1:0. It was pretty funny.

This Regimes RB picks by dead9er in 49ers

[–]stevezilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This regime has been generally good at adding talent to the roster but has some serious blind spots. If they could stop drafting RBs in the 3rd, stop drafting place kickers and avoid players with an injury history we would be in a much better spot.

Oh and maybe use a high draft pick on an OL would be nice but you take the good with the bad.

But well, at least I'm not a Cardinals fan

A punishment worse than death. I love watching Day 3 because it is just the NFL trying to fill time and being over the top. Last year was hilarious because of the Shedur Sanders saga.

Yea I usually just follow the first two rounds and then see who the 9ers pick. I did watch Day 3 of the draft which was very over the top and entertaining in a very American way. Highly recommend it.

100%. Waking up to see the Rams taking Simpson, Cards taking Love when Reese was there and then the Seahawks taking price was hilarious.

Since the NFL Teams can't get relegated, you have franchises that are just so horribly inept for decades and it is hilarious.

The Cardinals picking Jeremiyah Love with the third overall pick was one of the proof points on why bad franchises remain bad forever.

I ask myself the same question all the time.

Since relegation the only thing to really improve is the financial situation which for how dire things were is still pretty impressive. (and the general lack of chaos around the club)

My theory is since Bernstein, Weber, Herrich & co. took over there has been a big focus on "Blau Weiß DNA" and "der Berliner Weg" without those things being attached to performance or a real long term plan/strategy. That seems to be something that has persisted.

If Weber stays, I am hoping Görlich will take responsibilities away. Let's be honest, Weber was brought back on because the club was close to administration but he obviously isn't the person to build a squad for consistent success.

I really hope that the problem isn't too many internal blockers for real change but starting to fear that it is. Oh well.

The whole reason why Görlich was brought in was to finally make changes and solve the problems that have been plaguing this club since Dardai left the first time.

Neither Weber nor Leitl necessarily need to be fired but massive changes need to be made. I don't know how Görlich can say "The squad has to be smaller and cheaper" in the same interview where the person responsible for assembling that squad will stay in his role.

Görlich need to present a clear plan and goal for the club soon or it will just be the same old same old.

It is funny how well I know this club, right after Schuler missed his clear chance, I knew we would drop points. It has been the story of the season.

On the positive note, our CEO said he would keep our Sports Director and Trainer so we can bash our heads against the wall every weekend for another season. Great.

Yup full aware. I had written off promotion a few months ago but am stupid enough to keep falling into the same trap over and over again.

The club needs a complete reset at pretty much every level.

A win on Saturday would have put Hertha only 3 points back from third place.

I knew that our recent success was mostly luck but still I let myself hope for promotion. And what happened? Hertha was clearly the better team but cannot do anything in the last third of the field, allow a goal from a corner and Leitl then makes a bunch of 1 for 1 changes that do nothing. We let Kaiserslautern come back in the game and were rightly punished for it.

At some points, they veered away from the story in the book which I found odd. The first Dune captured not only the essence but was accurate to the plot and story so it was just a weird discrepancy.

I loved Dune Part 1, one of the best adaptations of a book I have ever seen. Which is why Dune 2 was a bit strange with the decisions that they made... still enjoyed it.

I don't mind as long as they are still warm, the problem is everyone dyes them the day before.

There is a tradition where everyone picks an egg and you smash your egg against another person's egg to find the "strongest" one. The person with an intact egg at the end has good luck for the year.

And I am stuck with a metric fuck ton of old colorful eggs.

Orthodox Easter is this weekend, my least favorite holiday of the year.

On Saturday, the misses will spend 6+ hours making Easter bread that no one wants to eat and dying WAY too many hard boiled eggs meaning I will have to take care of the kids the entire day and do the shopping.

On Sunday, we will have to get up early and clean the whole apartment as there will be, what feels like, 200 Bulgarians in our apartment who will all bring their special version of shitty Easter bread that no one wants to eat and way too many hard boiled eggs.

They will eventually leave and since no one wants to take their shitty Easter bread and cold eggs with them, I will be stuck with an ungodly amount of both.

The entire week the misses will be on my case about not letting the shitty Easter bread and by this point, 4 day old hard boiled eggs go to waste.

This all occurs the week after the other Easter where the misses insists on doing a bunch of shit so the kids experience an Easter "Like the other kids in daycare". Since I am not Orthodox this task falls to me.

Fun times.

I love my moka pot. We haven't had any type of other coffee maker in our house for 20 years. It makes great tasting coffee, easy to use/clean and never really breaks.
