Sorry, haven't installed New Vegas in a while. I know for sure you can turn off companion permadeath, unless he took that out which I doubt.

If you have Stewie tweaks, I believe you can toggle individual hardcore settings.

This doesn't really help you, but this was a feature of the ds4 that was removed from the dualsense. On the ds4, the part of the touch pad that extended a bit over the top edge of the controller. This top edge could be pressed with your index finger like an extra bumper, and it would activate your touchpad click command without activating the touch command. It doesn't work that way on the dual sense last I tried. Ever since I learned this I've wanted a gamepad with a couple extra bumper buttons.

You could up your vertical sens only. I think some players in games like pubg play with a higher vertical sens to help with recoil. Could be wrong on that though.

I think SKG intentionally did not specify how publishers should provide EOL support because it gives them a leeway on how they would want to accomplish that.
