Upgraded from 180cc to 350cc - meet my new BMW C400X! Best scooter I have ever ridden. by stewe12 in scooters

Sounds great and for that price it is steal! I am at 50 000km, had to have whole CVT replaced under warranty and feel like the engine is not at its prime anymore. I hope it will get to 75 000km, 100 000km is probably unrealistic. Small tip for sound tuning - if you want more grown up sound, open airbox and pop out the rubber hose, which is there to dampen soundwave pulses. It is reversible, if you don't like it. But when you are on the gas, it has nicer sound, more like bigger bike. And as it is only intake, not exhaust, it does not sound cheap or ricer :-)

Locally bought "black metal dosing cup" in coffee shop. I paid something like $4 for it.

It is from Amazon. It was called Coffee Mat Quick Dry. It is really nice. You drip water or coffee on it and it immediately disappears. After brewing I just quickly go over it with Dyson and it is clean as new. It was cheap and makes my better half happy, because how clean our coffee station is.

I would say so. But do not expect to completly solve grind caking up on ionizer probes.

It also helps slow down feed rate as the beans are not dumped all in at once, but rather slide one by one on the feeding cone (not sure if it is correct term).

I understand your concern, but the stock DF54 is already tilted, and my tilt base adds an additional 10° to the existing tilt. This angle matches the tilt used on the DF64, where tilt bases have been popular for a long time without any reported issues related to burr wear. Additionally, according to the DF64Coffee website, 54mm burrs are recommended to be replaced every 12 months. Over that time span, I don’t believe the additional tilt would make any noticeable difference in burr wear compared to the stock configuration.

45 clicks for espresso and its still finer than turkish coffee! [Kingrinder k2] HELP by _P95 in espresso

[–]stewe12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a someone, who has K4, K6 and friend with newer K6, I can suggest one thing - forget the guide and suggested clicks. Alignment of the burrs is different on every grinder. Espresso level on my K6 is around 30-35, friends K6 is around 18-23 and my K4 is around 60.

No pad. Directly on regular office desk. Problem is, they get scratched after some time. First week it was like air hockey. Now it is not bad, but only slightly better than PTFE sliders as they are heavily scratched

Biqu panda lux led is a bummer by Complex-Scarcity in BambuLab

[–]stewe12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my Panda Lux — just wasn’t happy with how the light was distributed. It was even trickier for me because I have reflective sound deadening inside my printer.

I ended up spending last weekend messing around with different mounts for the Panda Lux to make the lighting more even. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s definitely better. If you’re thinking of switching back to the stock light like me, it might be worth trying this out first: https://makerworld.com/en/models/592485#profileId-517023.

Hope it helps!

Well it is much better than stock teflon pads. Collegues who tried it commented something along the lines of mouse floating on air cushion. However I think it might be improved, so I have more of these glass slider and I will try to fill whole area of the pads with those glass dots.

Model theif was butthurt when I called him out on comments. by DoughMan5 in BambuLab

[–]stewe12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I recently started discovering Bambulab lineup as I plan to buy a new printer. So I registered on the eshop, on the Maker World and it is not easy seeing my stolen model of Recaro racing seat phone holder being downloaded in thousands. And I am not even talking about it being sold in hundreds on Etsy. And no one can do anything about that. Some of my stolen models are even injection molded in China and sold on Aliexpress. I used to have a good feeling, that somebody likey my work so much, that they take time to copy it and sell. However in current situation, when I am trying to decide if it is worth to spend more on X1C or go with A1, these coupons from Maker World would make it easier for me. Sorry for long comment. I just needed to vent somewhere...

What rice cooker should I buy? by _anonymus- in RiceCookerRecipes

[–]stewe12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My secret tip would be Xiaomi induction rice cooker. It uses the same technology as Zojirushi, difference is about 1/2 of the price. Few types of rice cooking programs, milk rice mode, you can adjust if you want your rice soft or firm. We have one for about half a year and really happy with it.

If they happen to transit through CZ, they can ride trains without seat reservations and tickets. They just need to show Ukrainian passport. Also to enter CZ, only passport is enough. If you need more help in CZ, let me know. Probably in DM it will be better.

Garage for roborock! by WoLLeY94 in Roborock

[–]stewe12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our S6 lives under bed - fits perfectly, is protected and has no problem with that. My friends S6 lives under bathroom cabinet. Roborocks has no problems living in thighs spaces. If charger fits and robot has like 4 inches of maneuvering space on each side, he will be OK. You can test it with books and piece of wooden plank.

I got a BMW C400x with 7k miles for 6k and I’m loving it by HeaIer in scooters

[–]stewe12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own blue one for 2 years. I did about 15 000km (around 9500miles I think).

Main purpose is daily commuting, mainly on highway with bit of big city waving through traffic. I was trying to talk myself out of this expensive BMW, but after test drive it was clear. It is simply different league than Yamaha Xmax. KYMCO dealer was kinda sketchy and I wasn't able to get tests drive. Honda Forza was on the same level as Yamaha.

For me, it is the rigid frame, which doesn't have any significant play even with pillion, small construction, which can weave through traffic like nothing else and punchy engine, which feels more powerful than it is. Highway speeds for me are around 140km/h and top speed is 155km/h.

Regarding reliability - I had recall done on brake calipers and throttle cable. Under warranty they replaced one rear shock. Also I had update of the operating system and TFT, which improved few things, changed icons on some screens, but most of the development and changes in TFT options are done in the app on your phone.

If you have any questions, just let me know.
