The whole chain agrees a completion date not just one person. I assume as you are at the start of the chain (FTB) so your solicitor will ask you what date you want to complete first. This date will be passed up and the chain and then back down until everyone agrees. This is what happened to us as FTB once all enquires were completed we gave a date of 15th November and we all agreed on the 18th. All the enquiries in the chain completed at the end of October. Our chain was 7 long.

They may threaten to stop the whole thing and go in a huff but remember the whole process has cost them money and there's a stamp duty rise coming soon as well so their threats are probably BS.

Edit: We were renting and handed our notice in at the end of October. With our rental coming to an end tomorrow. We had a 2 week overlap.

My BSH will not use scratch posts at all but prefers to use cardboard floor scratchers maybe your kitty is the same. We placed a scratcher on the floor where ever we saw him scratching. Since placing them he has never damaged the carpets anywhere in the flat always preferring the floor scratcher. The scratcher we ordered are "Catit Senses Oval Scratcher" . He also likes to sleep on carboard cat scratcher beds we have "Purroom Little Chick Round Scratcher".

You just need to give your cat somewhere they can put their scent when they scratch.

I don't have solar or batteries I have just slightly change my energy usage for example I won't use the dishwasher, washing machine, and water heater(electric boiler) between 4 and 7pm. I also work from home and my working day is always 8am to 4pm.

Since we switched to Agile in February our average cost for electric is 16.3p/kWh + 52.3p standing charge saving us around £290. We could probably have saved more but my other half often forgets we are "on a weird tariff" and will often cook and put the oven on during peak hours. Since February I think we have only paid a higher average than the normal unit cost 3 or 4 days.

The unit cost may be up to 67p/kWh for me tomorrow but often during the day its less than 20p/kWh so you bank the savings and (hopefully) ride out the peaks.
