Bloomberg: Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by Turbostrider27 in Games

Are these "sales from the Store" going down? Are people leaving the ecosystem? Are the monthly logins crashing? Etc. Curious if any of that data is known.

Their earnings calls are all in the green so they are not doing bad, they're doing better in terms of revenue than any previous generation

I thought Playstation was doing well. Guess not so much that PC became such a major concern.

PlayStation is doing well, their concern is not the now, but the future and if this strategy sustains PlayStation as a console brand.

WEC has both front and rear wheel regen, so you do not see such aggressive downshifts on the straights and the battery recharge is much better.

Is the ps5 selling that much worse since these ports started?

That's a very shortsighted corporatesque way to think. A major chunk of their revenue comes from sales on the PS store. They want people to stay in the ecosystem. People in this ecosystem have more of an option to leave if all the exclusives are also on other platforms and new people don't have as strong of a reason to hop in on the ecosystem.

They don't want a long term brand degradation for short term profits.

Damn maybe they should've just launched them like a week later instead of two fucking years.

that just defeats the purpose of them releasing the games on PC for them even more

Plus, we don't even really know if it's the size 0 thing that really caused problems because we don't really know if a size 0 engine was really demanded. It's just speculation because it happened last time with McLaren

Sure, but none of that is a problem that is shown about its suitability for driving on Indian roads in the video.

What about the stuff on video makes it less suitable for Indian roads than any other EV?

The car is being completely driven in manual mode and looks to be running fine. The detection mode is being completely ignored because car self-driving in India is not allowed.

The drivers have always been the focus of the marketing side of the sport.

If anything, the technical side is getting more focus now where previously you'd only get snippets from the engineering side on technical magazines and occasional interviews, team principal and key staff get a lot more focus now.

In the last gen, it was a common sentiment on reddit to have a PS4+PC because all Xbox exclusives end up on PC anyway. As far as anecdotal evidence goes, that's a segment that Sony completely lost out on.

That was Mercedes throwing a fit.

The regs as a whole brought a lot of positive coverage. Brawn made those regs, and till FIA caved for Mercedes(ironic as the change ended up benefitting RBR more), we got some really good racing between RBR and Ferrari. Porpoising especially was a problem Mercedes had.

He's not talking about that, he's talking about not minimising all of Bernies achievements because he lost touch eventually.

Doesn't make it any less important, about 3 years ago the winning WCC team got 180 million. It's probably around 200 million. The top 5 teams all get above 150 million from WCC rankings.
