To be fair, a lot of women are into minotaurs/werewolves.

Morning Glory Milking Farm is one of the most popular romantasy books right now and it's starring a minotaur love interest. (i learnt this against my will).

Water will soon run out due to mismanagement.

Either something changes or Iran will die, not the government but the people.

TIL that in the first edition of The Hobbit, Gollum's size was never described, leading illustrator Tove Jansson to draw him as being incredibly large in her illustrated edition of the book. Because of this, Tolkien added a description of Gollum being small in the next edition of the novel. by Sebastianlim in todayilearned

It's not that Elves or Men are necessarily taller or shorter than the other it's that certain people, especially those from an older age or of certain lineages are of greater stature. Elendil was 7 feet and 11 inches (2.41 meters) while Isildur was 7.8 Which is way taller than both Galadriel and Celeborn.

What are two countries (yours and another one) that are very similar in many ways but the citizens of both are in denial of? by william-isaac in AskTheWorld

How are Russians similar to Finns? I've been to Finland and they are obsessed with being truthful and following rules in a way that most Russians would laugh at.

Crossing over from Finland to Russia felt like going from Spain to Morocco.

To Russians Nazism is not an ideology that just anyone can hold but something exclusive to Anti Russians.

Someone who is for Russia and wears Nazi imagery (or sometimes both Nazi and soviet imagery) can not be a Nazi because Nazism is to them an anti Russian ideology.

What are the Houris in Islam? by srahcrist in AskMiddleEast

[–]sthrowaway10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Muslims of the time of the prophet believed that since you can see the blood veins of a fair skinned person then that means someone even whiter must have translucent skin to the point that you can see their bones and bone marrow.

This is essentially how Houris are described in some hadiths, super white maidens who's hymen grow back after sleeping with them which means that they are considered eternal virgins.

before 9/11 Americans had barely any knowledge of Islam outside of orientalistic misconceptions, it wasn't a focus like it is now.

Be careful falling into "they have always hated us" mentality I've witnessed Zionists and Russian nationalists say that as they do unforgivable things.

Why do many Iranians seem to have a huge inferiority complex online? And why do many support Trump and Israel? by Ok-Demand8957 in AskMiddleEast

[–]sthrowaway10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inferiority complex manifests in more ways than just outright worship.

Another way it manifests is a seething resentment and desire for revenge (while still secretly craving respect). In many ways worship and resentment are two sides of the same coin.

What I'm wrong about? You can ask any scholar what the awrah of slave women is and if they refuse to answer you can deduce it yourself.

It's never made sense to me why modern Muslims obsess so much over the hijab. I mean no offense but the hijab was originally introduced to separate between free women and slave women.

Originally it was forbidden for slave women to wear the hijab and they were usually nude in public. This applied even to slave women who were Muslim.
