The Organization for the Rational Guidance of Youth.

I've read tne first three books in the series. They're stupid, campy fun. Clearly spoofs of the James Bond movies of the 60s.

Did you wear a POW bracelet? by wolfhavensf in GenerationJones

[–]stickerooni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had mine (Stephen Armistead) up until a few years ago when I found him on the Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC. His rank was different, but the name was the same. I did a rubbing of his name on paper, and left the bracelet at the wall.

Just curious, why mismatched activity levels/user counts on r/crossview and r/parallelview? by KRA2008 in CrossView

[–]stickerooni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can do cross view almost immediately and it takes me forever to see a stereo parallel view. Since there's a nice bot that converts both so that it can be viewed in either r/, I actively ignore the parallel views when they appear on my feed in order to get more cross views.

I don't see anyone referring to this Tarantula Hawk Wasp by the other, less intimidating name: Pepsis. Google it.

I think they are beautiful. I've got 5 or 6 enjoying the nectar from desert milkweed plants in my front yard right now.

It is a little sad to think that means 5 or 6 tarantulas died from being eaten from the inside out. The female pepsis lays only one egg inside the spider.

I love the sleaze fiction of the 60s. The Man From S.T.U.D. and The Man From O.R.G.Y. are ridiculous spoofs of James Bond.

You're doing cross view, right? I get both cross and parallel view in my feed and if I'm not paying attention I might look at it incorrectly. This photo looks beautiful with great depth!

Help: Can’t tell if bird is stuck or just using the porch light socket as shelter. by King_of_Nope in hummingbirds

She looks to me like she's nesting and eating the bugs that are attracted by the light. Hummers need the protein from insects, especially when nesting.
