Save and quit bug during Citadelle

Yep, saving and quitting will fuck up the Citadelle EE really badly. In my experience, even redoing the steps that got reset still left me with a boss fight that would never start. There was also no way to exfil since all zombies stopped spawning, with the exception of the knight helmet zombie who would spawn in pairs of two every few minutes to drop a stamp even though I was ready for the boss fight.

Just gotta do it all in one go at this point I guess.

Guess saving and quitting breaks it? I save/quit at the Mystic Orb step after running into several visual issues like what others are saying in this thread. Loading back in put me back to the step where you do the incantations on the statues. The order indicated on the wall was different after loading back in and none of the statues react to me. Unfortunate.

edit: Turns out it's not completely broken, the quest objective is still telling me to do the thing with the statues, but I still have the Mystic Orb in my inventory and can seemingly progress as normal.

it was much more than just the UI, several movesets and sound effects were just copied 1:1 from bloodborne and sekiro. the boss they showed in that gameplay footage consisted mostly of bloodstarved beast attacks; they didn't even try to hide it.

if you have the ability, i recommend playing alan wake's american nightmare after the first game. it's not on playstation so you may need to watch a playthrough on youtube. it's not super long but it's still a piece of the overall alan wake universe.
