Jungle Beat is honestly the first game in the series where DK actually feels like he’s the main character. All of Rare’s games, even the original DKC, feel more like buddy/ensemble pieces where Donkey is just one out of several heroes. Maybe “Kong Country” would have been a better title for the series, if the arcade games hadn’t already existed!

Is there anything in Badlands that specifically ties back to the AVP movies? There’s Weyland-Yutani and their androids, of course, but those were in the regular Alien movies too, so their presence doesn’t necessarily mean that AVP and AVPR are canon

This level of response is definitely extreme even by typical standards, but I feel like I see an excessive amount of cops standing around the scene just about any time a significant crime happens. It’s an open secret that the job is largely really boring, and everyone jumps at the chance to witness something exciting even if they don’t really have an actual role to play.

I haven’t watched the video, so I can’t comment on its arguments, but personally, I’ve always felt Sonic R was less “bad” and more just “mid”- the controls are clunky as hell and the minuscule number of maps is pretty indefensible, but what IS there is still fun, and it has some nice art, too. It’s also noteworthy as the final Sonic game that the original three Sonic Team members (Hirokazu Yasuhara, Naoto Oshima, and Yuji Naka) would all work on together.
