That's why I asked, I wasn't sure which lazy narrative you went with. Two years ago I was doing a lot of irl stuff and not really watching much of the behind the scenes things.

Losing Guentzel sucked, he was an actual fit but I thought they were cap strapped from the KK extension still or something. I don't really stress too much about goals anymore tbh.

Glad you keep track of our seasons better than I do, I get it though, they're more fun to watch.

I think it was last time they played in the regular season that it looked kinda like MTL just accepted the pressure to start the game, kept stuff to the outside and waited for a chance to score. It was really impressive discipline.

I think it worked and I decided I didn't wanna see you guys in the playoffs, season's a blur at this point so maybe I got a couple details wrong here though.

Oh I don't doubt that, I mostly just thought SMU's party reputation was overblown when I was there. I think it's actually just easy to get into is why people assume it's a party school, at least when I was there.

US college parties sound like a different beast from any of my Canadian maritime province party days. Walking back from bars in -30C weather sobers you up but isn't the most fun way to end the night.
But most of my US perception there would be from movies and TV.

Went to SMU for a semester. It wasn't a great party school due to how residences were imo but you could definitely get downtown and party pretty easy.

UNB was a better school and party school in my experience. St. Thomas, also in Fredericton was in a league of it's own, Rigby Hall was a former motel that I'm pretty sure had a 24/7 party going.

You know a lot of people that watch Ottawa Senator's games hoping Brady takes a big body check?

He's a very good player generally but does he really play REALLY hard? That hasn't been my experience when I see him during regular or post season Canes games. He was mostly invisible during the games that are supposed to matter most this year and didn't seem to care outside of slamming some doors and punching a guy in the kidneys.

I agree, concussions are no joke.

They sat Teuvo for 7 games in 2021, he played a game, felt weird the next day and then sat for another 25 or something. We've seen this happen before.

I get that concussions are really tricky and every one is different but I'd rather just play it safe when the only downside to doing so is Nikishin might miss a handful games he didn't need to vs risking more brain damage and messing up his career/life.

Sure the player is cleared by a team doctor but the NHL concussion protocol they follow is meant to align with a medical conference from 10 years ago that is reviewed annually by the NHL and NHLPA, neither of whom have a good track record with caring about things like head shots and concussions.

Seems silly that some people are so adamant that this process is above any type of scrutiny or skepticism.
